Good work Gary! Will we have a video to watch of the engine startup? I was going to ask you where the big weights in the nose were, but then remembered this is not a sliding roof wagon.

Isn't the metal tab (in line with the one fan blade) a 'clip' to hold the harness? If the harness is routed on the opposite side of the clip, and the end of the clip rolled around the harness, would that properly secure it? -

You could post the video on YouTube, and post the link here. I for one would love to hear these horns.

My comment is to think about why the drum is so out of round. Maybe it ran very hot (brakes stuck on that side, ebrake cable sized etc) that caused this sometime in the past. Or, some mechanical damage (wheel came off and drum hit the road hard?) that warped it. If either of these, it may not be a good drum long term even if it's turned (hard spots from overheating, or thin spots when the drum is turned round again, might cause uneven braking and pulsations/vibrations). Yes, try to have it turned to use it short term, but advertise for a good used drum for long term. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I feel your pain (figuratively and literally) Gary. I built my garage in the mid-1980s, and the reasonably priced lifts were not available then. I lack about a foot or a little more of height to be able to use a 4-post lift and be able to stand upright underneath the car. The garage is built on an integral footer slab, with three courses of concrete block then the garage sitting on them. I am seriously considering jacking up the garage and adding two more courses of block. The problem is getting everything off the walls, moving all the heavy during shelving away from the walls, etc, to be able to jack the garage up. Just lots of lifting and moving I guess.

Too bad those snow tires are so old Gary -- I've always thought an older car in the North (especially a wagon) would be unique with a set of old style snow tires on it.

1964 Austin Healey Sprite - Bugeye
r1lark replied to Eric W's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
Nice work Eric, as usual! Over the years I've learned on brakes not to trust the way they are found when disassembled. Like your experience, there have been many times that I've pulled brakes apart and found them incorrectly assembled. -
Does your Saxon have a rear transaxle? (Looks like it from the pics.......)

Love the colors Frank! Great to see the progress on the Nash.
