  1. glad you got the book wayne. Its a real treasure.
  2. Its on a five year loan. It should be there when you are there.
  3. Still on the hunt guys. I got a Sun Brand canvas tent and have my prentiss wabers oven. I still am interested in any antique camping equipment such as folding bathtubs, car kitchens, runningboard cases etc.
  4. Here is a good story about the lone pine film museum and the lincoln movie car that it acquired recently. http://www.museumofwesternfilmhistory.org/articles-with-out-menu-items/camera-car-acquisition
  5. And here is the video of us getting jacks 1923 california top lincoln out and getting it ready to ship to the museum.
  6. I reposted the video as it seems that the old link stopped working.
  7. I had this same problem with the top on my sedan. I had to put a seam in it. I called everywhere. No one had anything wide enough anymore. It was all discontinued. I hope you have better luck than I did.
  8. You could ask Greg Bilpuch is he has one. Hes in the lincoln owners club. There are potential plans to have more made but right now I dont know of any that are for sale . Also, I maintain the serial number database for the LOC. I try to keep track of every car and where it is (as much as is possible - there are 600 cars in my database). It would be great to know your cars serial number so I can make sure its listed and update its location.
  9. this car keeps showing up on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/152327129281?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI152327129281.N36.S2.R1.TR7 I think its over priced by about 15k. A beautiful example of this same body style with a fully rebuilt motor, new chrome and a beautiful correct paint job sold last year for 40K. I drove the car and it was one of the nicest I have seen. I dont know what to say about the one on ebay. Its pretty ugly.
  10. I like this guy: http://www.classicpreservation.com/vactankkits.html
  11. I know this is late, but I am bored... I think this car is serial number 33503 which is a 1926 type 130 Roadster by Brunn. It used to belong to known lincoln collector Hank Harper. There were a total of 461 type 130 roadsters built. 1923 - 48 1924- 188 1925 - 126 1926- 99 I have seven of them of all years listed in my model L lincoln registry. Quote Edit Options
  12. this car is for sale in california for 25k. Its a locke body. Needs wood work and most everything else.
  13. It seems that it should have a straight eight in it? This car is a six
  14. Any ideas what it is? It was a four door convertible sedan with a folding B pillar.
  15. Cuno engineering makes the cigar lighters and really neat accessory ash trays too.
  16. Jacks first lincoln is now in the Lincoln museum in hickory corners: http://lincolncarmuseum.org/1923-lincoln-phaeton
  17. I really love period accessories. I buy alot of different ones and try to use them. This is one that I just cant bring myself to buy. No one drives their cars in the rain or snow much anymore so these are not that useful. Also, the rubber cups are always bad, so they are not functional unless you can find replacements. They are also quite common. I think there are six of them on ebay right now including this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/182323165802?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have really been struggling with this particular one as I really like it but cannot find any actual reason to purchase. I drive my car alot, but because its ten thousand dollars to have my convertible top replaced and my body is made of wood, I just cant find enough balls to use it in the rain. The other accessory that seems to fall into this same category is the pines winterfront grill. They are super cool, some are even badged for specific car brands which makes them even more cool. I think they look neat on cars. But again, no one uses their cars in cold weather, so there is no reason to have one. We need to have a resurgence of people who use antique cars all the time. Its depressing that skills which used to be common are now becoming "artisinal." In 1966 there were plenty of old world machinists who needed work and would happily do babbit work, upholstery, brake shoe relining, wood wheel rebuilding.... Now these skills are so rare that they have become specialized and expensive. It costs 4,000 dollars to just have babbit poured for my car. That was me doing all the disassembly, all the assembly and all the clean up from the machine work. Im getting off subject, but this is why no one needs a defroster.
  18. I have some old photos of that doble. I know who owns it now and am saving up a few other pics for him as well before I send them down. It used to participate alot in the old car events in the 50s-60s.
  19. I also find this kind of advertising annoying. This body type (177) was produced for two years with a total production run of 253 (174 in 1929 and 79 in 1930) not the 28 that he claims in the ad.
