  1. The car is a real beauty. Where is it located?
  2. I used Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax on the original black paint on my '49 Special (which I sold last month) and it looked pretty good considering that the paint was over 60 years old. On a 1-10 scale I would mark it 8, Dude....
  3. This one still works.... CraigsList Search Engine All Of Craigs List - Find what you need Fast and Easy
  4. Thanks for posting that link. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Henry Fonda that young before....
  5. I have to ask-did someone actually total a brand new Corvette?
  6. "I told you we shouldn't have parked it in that part of town, Goober!"
  7. That's a really sharp car. If you get a chance could you please post a photo of the side view mirror with thermometer? I've never seen one. Thanks....
  8. Here's another version of a clown car....
  9. If you send the pics to 61rambler@bellsouth.net I'll post up to 12 of them in this thread for you....
  10. Welcome to the site. I saw your ad for the '56 and you're right-it's pretty far gone. Feel free to post some pics of the '39 if you get a chance....
  11. I just emailed him and asked him to put the price and his location in this ad....
  12. Have you checked Ebay lately? There are two '49 Sedanettes on there. This one is a super rusty Roadmaster in Florida with an opening bid of $495 and no reserve.... Buick : Roadmaster | eBay And this one is a restored Super in New Mexico for $19,500 or best offer. This one is a stick and the rusty one has an automatic. I know that you're probably looking for something in between but I figured you would at least like to take a look at them.... Buick : Mod 56-S Style No. 49-4507 | eBay I also did a search on the nationwide Craigslist site and there weren't any 2 doors on there....
  13. You said you love the '49 Buick because of the way they look and you would consider any model but are you aware that the '49 Special is different than the '49 Roadmaster and Super? The Roadmaster and Super were redesigned for '49 and the Special wasn't. The '49 Special looks the same as the '46 through '48 Special. Here's some pics of the '49 Special that I sold recently. For more info check out the August 2010 Buick Bugle. Good luck....
  14. Chevy parts are cheaper and easier to find but you will also see a lot more Chevys at cruises and car shows. Plus 4 door Chevys don't get as much respect as 2 doors so keep that in mind. The Caddy would attract more attention than the Chevy but it would also cost more to restore. If you're not on a tight budget go with the Caddy. Good luck....
  15. I agree. Those wheels are hideous. I hope you didn't pay more than $10 each for them....
  16. The buyer lives in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee so it's a little closer to Texas now. The old guy (from Texas) that I bought it from said he bought it from someone in Florida but several other things he told me about the car weren't exactly accurate either. This is the LAST car I'll ever buy without seeing it first. I've purchased several other old cars sight unseen before and the sellers were pretty accurate when they described them but this seller unfortunately wasn't....
  17. You should start a new thread with the make and model in the title. You should also include some pics, the price, and your location....
  18. How about some old car crash photos? The trial for the driver of the blue Challenger starts in Louisville, KY in a couple of weeks. He was test driving it at 101 mph and t-boned the black Taurus and killed both occupants....
  19. Thanks. I figured that anyone who would drive that far must be seriously interested in it and I was right....
