Chrysler said they do not have build sheets for the 1950 Dodges only the build cards. They also informed me that they do not have any way of decoding what is on the build card. So im hoping that someone knows how to decode these build cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  13. Introducing a rare 1950 Plymouth "Special Deluxe" Convertible with canary-yellow exterior and dark red interior. This car was purchased in 1985 from the estate of the original owner. Specs & Details: 71,620 miles, Engine: 6 cylinder flat head, manual transmission, O.E.M. factory features & options, driven and maintained to high standards. Always pampered and stored in a garage. The older repaint still gleams with a nice luster, however several areas of the paint have light to moderate crazing in the 30 year old paint, along with typical chips and light blemishes (generally expected from 60+ years on the road). The can be driven and enjoyed as is, or a great candidate for a full restoration. The car has light surface rust in the rocker panels as well as a small area in the trunk, typical areas on "survivor" convertibles. Floors were clean and rust free when we removed the seats to install the seat belts. The weather stripping, chrome and stainless are in overall good shape with a slight tarnish and some minor pitting, scratches and a few dings. The convertible top and headliner are in overall good condition. The hydraulic top was just serviced and operates perfectly. The newer interior and rubber mat flooring are in great condition. All new radiator, hoses and battery. Many NOS parts just Installed (not shown in photos) 4 new chrome latch red seat belts, new parking light lenses, new chrome horn ring and horn button. The car also comes with a new trunk rubber seal and 4 new bumper guards in a box. All the gauges light up and work. The car is mechanically perfect and is a ton of fun to drive. She has remarkably tight steering and smooth shifting. Neat and rare open car for the price. $16,500 OBO. oldrideguide@gmail.com Test drives and inspections welcome. Email me for a link to a VIDEO and extra photos of the car. 1940, 1941, 1942, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1960

  22. Hey folks, bear with me. The Short story is the starter solenoid plunger activates, the starter does not. The long story is that "Bruce" ( what we named our Buick), finally needed a carb rebuild & its manifold straightened out. This part went well. Bruce's starter had been "dragging" for a few months even though it was rebuilt new internals & with a NOS solenoid. When we went to start Bruce, the dragging was worse and all we got was a 1/2 hearted sputter & a lot of no start. The original +cable got quite warm. We replaced it with a #2 from Autozone. Plunger worked, starter did not. (Battery is new & fully charged) So I pulled the starter & had my guy look it over. He freshened it up and bench tested it. In the mean time I obtained a NOS +battery cable. Same result. Plunger in, starter no go. Voltages seem good & steady everywhere & the two ground straps are in good shape. (1 bat to engine mount & 1 block to firewall) Questions: Did I miss something obvious? Could it be something internal to the engine? Could the ball in the Carb switch have been screwed up by the rebuild? Final thoughts: Last time Bruce ran he started then sputtered to a stop. At first we thought his ignition system went fuzzy. The coil was dead. So I replaced the coil, condenser, rotor & cap. Wires are still new & plugs were clean. He would turn over but not start, dragging of course. I noticed the carb was leaking badly again, so we decided to take care of that too. I'm afraid I might be dealing with a busted timing chain. Thoughts, I need a few. Engine is the original 248 straight 8 with the Dynaflow. Thanks guys & gals Dave
