jay 1966
I am a new member. I recently purchased a 1963 lesabre 2dr HT with factory 4 speed. Does anyone know production info for this combination? Thanks Jay 860-250-9281

Guest sintid58
I don't know how rare but assume that its very rare. I've never seen one talked about on here, way cool car by the way.
Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Very cool! I've seen the ##s for 63 Wildcat 4-speeds but not LeSabre. Thanks for joining us!
sean1997
I don't know how accurate it is, but Ward's Automotive Yearbook says 0.2% of 1963 fullsize Buicks came with a 4-speed (99% with autos, 0.8% with 3-speeds). There were 309,068 fullsize Buicks built during the 1963 model year, which means about 618 cars (all LeSabre or Wildcat) would have been built with 4-speeds.

YearModel/ StyleBodyPlatformSeriesDescriptionRegionProductionWheelbase(inches)EngineCylinders

19634019YSpecial4-door thin pillar sedanU.S.21,733112.1V6/V8

19634027YSpecial2-door thin pillar notchback coupeU.S.21,886112.1V6/V8

19634035YSpecial4-door station wagon, 2-seatU.S.5,867112.1V6/V8

19634045YSpecial4-door station wagon, 3-seatU.S.2,415112.1V6/V8

19634067YSpecial2-door convertibleU.S.8,082112.1V6/V8

19634110YSpecial Deluxestripped chassisU.S.768112.1V8

19634119YSpecial Deluxe4-door thin pillar sedanU.S.37,695112.1V8

19634135YSpecial Deluxe4-door station wagon, 2-seatU.S.8,771112.1V8

19634347YSkylark2-door hardtop coupeU.S.32,109112.1V8

19634367YSkylark2-door convertibleU.S.10,212112.1V8

19634411BLeSabre4-door sedanU.S.8,328123V8

19634435BLeSabre4-door estate wagon, 2-seatU.S.5,566123V8

19634439BLeSabre4-door hardtop sedanU.S.50,420123V8

19634445BLeSabre4-door estate wagon, 3-seatU.S.3,922123V8

19634447BLeSabre2-door hardtop coupeU.S.27,977123V8

19634467BLeSabre2-door convertibleU.S.9,975123V8

19634469BLeSabre4-door thin pillar sedanU.S.64,995123V8

19634635BInvicta4-door estate wagon, 2-seatU.S.3,495123V8

19634639BWildcat4-door hardtop sedanU.S.17,519123V8

19634647BWildcat2-door hardtop coupeU.S.12,185123V8

19634667BWildcat2-door convertibleU.S.6,021123V8

19634747ERiviera2-door hardtop sport coupeU.S.40,000117V8

19634819CElectra 2254-door thin pillar sedanU.S.14,268126V8

19634829CElectra 2254-door pillarless sedanU.S.11,468126V8

19634839CElectra 2254-door hardtop sedanU.S.19,714126V8

19634847CElectra 2252-door hardtop coupeU.S.6,848126V8

19634867CElectra 2252-door convertibleU.S.6,367126V8

1964 Wards Automotive Yearbook-low res.pdf
Centurion
Very cool car! Matt Menges in Wichita, who sometimes posts here, also has a '63 LeSabre 4-speed car:
Pete Phillips
I saw a black one about 15 years ago, unrestored and fairly rough, being auctioned at an old paint & body shop that was going out of business in Oklahoma City. I was too late arriving and it had already been sold. It was a LeSabre two-door hardtop. There was a blue 4-speed LeSabre station wagon at the Chicago BCA national meet in the 1990s--those are the only LeSabre four-speeds I have ever seen.Pete Phillips, BCA #73381963 Wildcat conv. 4-speed (about 2/3rds of the way through its restoration)Leonard, Tx

jay 1966
The information found so far indicates there were 76 two-door hardtop lesabre four-speed cars built 63.
Guest BJM
76 seems about right, given the total production. But, more importantly there can't be more then 10-15 left in any condition. In the late 60's they would not have been seen in the light we see them now, plus the bodies rust out, etc. I'd 10, with maybe 4-5 in nice condition. JohnD1956
That is a really nice car, but I'm not a fan of those wheels/ tires or the numerous stickers on the rear windows. But it is your car, your way. If you like it does it really matter what others think?

Pete Phillips
June issue of the Buick Bugle will be on the 1963 full-sized cars like this. Am finishing it up right now.I think there's an error in the production chart above. Model 4411 is a LeSabre 2-dr. sedan, not a 4-dr. sedan. I used to own one.Pete Phillips
Guest loadmaster
I haven't been active in the Buick circles for some time but do remember a fellow named larry ? from the south side of Chicago that had a '63 LeSabre 4 speed station wagon in baby blue. Neat car !
Guest Rob McDonald
It's not scientific, but I've always had in mind that just 1% of most model's production makes it past their 50th birthday. If in fact there were just 76 of these built, by my calculation, yours should be one of 0.76 cars remaining! Obviously, I never passed a statistics course but it is a beautiful car, anyway.
