Guest
I have a sign that reads BUICK WILDCAT POWER on a 40" by 20" section of masonite. Attached to this sign is a 3 dimensional Wild cat the CAT not the car. One of it's ears is broken off.Does anyone know where to get it repaired? STAGE III
Sorry, I do not know who could repair it but if you would ever decide to let it go I would be interested in it “as is”. Thanks, John Fritz Matthews, NC

NTX5467
Wonder what photograph they used of a pouncing cat to model that sign after? :Looks more like an "escaping" cat rather than a "pounching" cat to me. BTAIM An icon, none-the-less. NTX5467

60FlatTop
I just came in from the garage and have some pictures of my Wildcat. Mine was a gift from the local Buick salesman who had saved it. The Cat became detached from the shadowbox before the model year ended. It is made pretty cheesy. The body is thin, blow molded plastic, some sort of styrene I would guess. There is a cardboard filler that loosely snaps into the body. There are strips of cushion material that glue to the cardboard and the sign, real cow hoof glue from the looks of it. According to Bert, Adelbert Gailbraith, Buick was pretty tight with perks. He gave me the Cat and a Buick logo lighter. He said he was given a stick pin one year but he took the jewel out and had it set in a ring for his wife. He sold me two cars. My first ever financed car, a '60 Invicta flat top when I was 17 and just about to graduate from High School (didn't turn 18 until September). That one cost $600, $50 per month for a year. Then in 1972 after coming home from the Navy I bought this '68 Riviera from him for $1600. It was brown when I bought it. I had it painted Ford Heritage Burgundy. Here's the cat:

60FlatTop
Why does that cat look so wild! Because there's a rat in the car. I bought that Rat from Big Daddy Ed Roth and talked about the cars he built when I was carrying the car magazines to school. It was nice to meet him in a low key place and just talk about cars. The key chain first hung from the rear view mirror of my Jaguar XJS. What better place for a rat than in a cat. 1

Jocko23
My grandfather worked for Buick for like 50 years and gave me this. Let me know if anyone would like to make an offer. Jpgfellas@comcast.net
