1939_Buick
Nice car for the money. With early grille and small wiper transmission is probably a short chassis_early production. Has the ss external window moulding. In USA normally they are only on 60 series century. But looks good. Pity about the modified suspension. May be able to be put back to original. Still has the rear bumper stone guard. Most get lost Headlight pods on the wrong side. The adjuster plug should be on the inside. Firewall and door shuts should be body color Should not have welting between front fenders and side metal. Is missing a 45° brace in the engine compartment near the top radiator hose. Helps stop shake. Steering column and some other bits should be maroon. Door cards not to original pattern. The restorer painted the the dash and garnish mouldings. Replicating the woodgrain is hard~expensive. But still a nice car, if it drives well. Edit This is same car at $14,500 with different rego plates a month ago. Flipper? https://forums.aaca.org/topic/412385-fs-not-mine-1939-buick-business-coupe-14500-midlothian-va-fb-mktplce/ Edited April 26 by 1939_Buick (see edit history)
GARY F
What is the button for on the gear shift?
JRHaelig
That's the turn signal selector/indicator. Flip it up for left, down for right. First year item....along with first year of column shift
deac
Though it's not a correct car, it's still pretty nice. If I was to buy it I would put white wall tires on it; too drab looking the way it is now. The interior looks nice, though not correct, has a maroon steering wheel that looks out of place. I believe that instrument cluster panel is supposed to be maroon and the dash and interior door frames should have a wood grain finish on them. Spark plug cover is missing too. We could go on and on! g-g-g0
Does this car bring back memories. I owned a twin in 1957/1959! No it’s not “perfect” but a sweet car! As another gentleman on this site often says, “I drove it like I stole it!” If I were only 30 years younger!
edinmass
Wow…..I have been accused of many things, but NEVER of being a gentleman! 😎

Dark maroon is the correct color for the steering column and some other internal items. Dash and window garnish moldings should be woodgrain pattern
edinmass
Looks like a very nice and fun car……but I can’t get past the metallic paint………
Jim Skelly
It appears there were two metallic greens offered, as well several metallic shades of blue, gray and brown. I wonder how common metallic colors were back then? 1939 Buick (autocolorlibrary.com)
