Re: Your vacation. Looks to me like a great place to get away from it all. However a divorce accusing me of irreconcilable differences and maybe even child abuse would be forthcoming if I were to take the family along.

I was so happy with the bench I made from my old Cadillac bumper. And then some old curmudgeon came along and complained it didn't have a back on it.

Worked fine for me. It's a '69 Fleetwood.

Cadillac Ranch?

No, not the Cadillac Ranch.  Somewhere like out in northern New Mexico or Arizona would be my guess.

Cadillac ranch is a graffiti filled "art work" about 100 yards south of Route 66 / I-40 just west of Amarillo, Texas.  Been there, done that.

We drove through a stretch of similar barren land in Wyoming or Nebraska that "the buffalo [used] to roam". A roadside sign pointed to large smooth topped boulders rutted by the passage of iron rimed wheels of covered wagons during the great western migration.

We complain about freeway travel these days...HA!

Yes, I have been there as well.

I just figured that bench would be appropriate.
