Power antenna insulator

I repair power antenna and lots of the '63-'65 antenna have a damaged mast insulator.

At one time Clarks had them but they no longer have them.

I approached a machinist I know and ask if he could make them.... no problem as long as I was

in no hurry.    He does them as filler work when I let him know I am out...

They are made of black delrin and $25 including shipping.    At first I thought that was high but

he charges around $100 per hour and you cannot make one in 15 minutes.      Attached are some pictures and

they can be shortened for later model Tenna antenna used on GM cars.

Hi Barney,

  Sent you a PM

Thanks,

Tom...I think you forgot what your first name is.  I still remember mine, and I'm a hell of a lot older than you!!

Thanks for offering this item to us Barney.

My '63 Riviera was in hibernation for over 25 years. When I continued on with the "project", I found most anything electrical not working, radio, blower, turn signals, power seat etc. But, the power antenna was the only power option still functioning faithfully!

I will respond to everyone that sent me a PM.

Hope no one is in a hurry,   I may have one I could ship,  will get with the machinist Monday and try and get a projected

delivery schedule.      There is little set-up but if he has an hour, maybe he could do 4.

I believe I have filled all the orders and presently have 3 available to ship.

Some have sent me email expressing their satisfaction with the part.....

The parts are still $25 each including shipping.     I did work out a new price

of $20 each with the machinist.   It cost $5.35 to $5.45 to ship them via USPS

and the envelope is only .20 each so I am only loosing .45 -.55 cents each

which is better than having the $20 part sitting on the shelf.

As has been said before " I loose money on every one but I make it up on volume"

I would work out a better deal on the envelopes to minimize my losses 😆

"Get while the gettins good" is the mantra of this hobby. Ten years from now people will be crying that they can't find one when needed.

Thanks again, Barney 👍
