Seems confusing as it looks like an XL by the interior, and it says the model code is a 500 GT? Still looks damn sharp. Probably sell for 40kish Edited February 26 by theconvertibleguy Wrong year (see edit history)
m-mman
Typo in the heading the car is a 1966 not a 1967. Beyond that it is correctly called a “7 Litre”. Or Galaxie 500 XL 7 Litre. A model that highlighted the new for 66 428 engine. Standard equipment included disc brakes, this example has the 67 dual master cylinder not the 1966 only disc brake single master.

rocketraider
Nope. Facebook ad correctly calls it a 1966 but seller doesn't seem to know what he has. This is a 7 Litre, which was positioned between the Galaxie XL and the LTD. 428 backed by either AT or four-speed, buckets/console, wood wheel, power front disc brakes, a special rumbly exhaust and special badging, which included the LTD's distinctive grille. A full-size hotrod, aimed at the Grand Prix, Starfire and Chrysler 300 market. Nice example and well optioned, with AM-FM, AC, power windows and driver seat in addition to the 7 Litre equipment. Big, fast car. I like it. I think 7 Litre as a separate model was one-year only? Then reverted to an option on XL for 1967, and then disappeared, another victim of diminishing full-size performance car sales.

The 1966 and 67 I thikn had a GT/GTA or something like that. I've seen two for sale over the summer at roughly 40kish or so. Seriously debating putting a bid in on this, can't see any yellow flags.

Gearheadengineer
Only yellow flag that I see in these pics is the jiffy lube sticker! It looks like a nice car. Shiny paint, good options, nice interior. The dash pad looks good - those do not typically hold up well. Power seat and warning light options are unusual. My usual Galaxie caveat: check the frame for rust. Carefully. Everywhere. Tap it with a hammer. These collect dirt and then rust from the inside out. For reasons I don’t understand, the ‘65 and later Galaxies don’t bring the money like the earlier ones. The 7 Litre is the one to have, but I still don’t know if this will reach $40k.
m-mman
FYI from the 1966 facts book
1912Staver
Agree 100% Gearheadengineer. The shop I worked at in the mid 1980's had one of these in for some work. It looked a lot like this one from the outside. Once up in the air it was easy to see the frame had quite a bit of serious rust . Worst was where the rear section joined to the side rails. Never buy one of these without a very close , in person check of the frame.
Jim Skelly
As Glenn stated, it was also available in '67. I saw one in Dearborn in the 1970s or early 1980s that was a total rust bucket, which was a shame since it's such a rare car. It was the only one I've ever seen. The XL GT was available from 1968-1970.
