John_S_in_Penna
That seems like a very good price for this car, and gives enough room in the budget for reawakening it mechanically. The color is distinctive, too. Edited August 30, 2023 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)
TexRiv_63
Looks nice on the outside but that interior makes it a project car.
rocketraider
Yup. Antique Rose metallic finished leather is a custom dye job on top of all the missing pieces. Strangely optioned too. GuideMatic and tilt wheel are all I see. The diecast panel between rear bumper and decklid is Super 88. I have to ask. WHY paint the roof white?!😫 63-66 Starfires were never intended to be two-toned. 1
B Jake Moran
I love that color and interior. Obviously needs carpet and some door work.
kingrudy
If you could get it all straightened out for 20K all in. I believe you would have a beautiful car. I like it a lot.

It was a 10.5:1 CR 394/345 with Roto HydraMatic or nothing from factory. Even though I've seen a lot that have been two-toned, the only year a Starfire could have two-tone paint was 1962. Look at the 63-66 body lines and it's obvious why those weren't offered with it. ** I hadn't thought of this in a while but this thread brought it out of the cobwebs of my brain. Even in the mid 80s I was always on the lookout for Starfires, and local paper had an ad for a 62 hardtop, red and white. Called and made arrangements to see it. Get there, and there was a 63 painted white above the side trim and red below. Talked with the 70-ish owner a few minutes and finally asked where the 62 was. "Right there." Sir, this is a 1963. "Naw, title says it's a 62. I knew the man bought it new!" He produced the title and sure enough it was titled as a 62, but the VIN indicated 63. He couldn't be persuaded otherwise. Closer inspection revealed it was originally light metallic green with saddle 😖 interior. There were just too many red flags for me to consider buying it. Paint, interior color, later Olds wheelcovers, and a whole lot of cleaning and detail work. Nothing insurmountable but more than I wanted to get into, especially having to correct the titling issue. The old fellow kept prattling about how a man from Del Rio Texas was coming to look at the car the following week. I told him he might want to get DMV to straighten out the title issue before he sold it out of state. He told me I wasn't old enough to know anything about that car, that he knew the original owner and it was a 62 cause the title said so. I thanked him for his time.
Jim Skelly
Hilarious! When I was about 10, our family was on vacation and we saw an old Chevy coupe. The old man proudly showed us his '37. Dad commented that it was a '38 and the old man insisted it was a '37. I knew Dad was correct since I had recently built a Pyro '37 Chevy coupe kit and the car we were looking at wasn't it!
