Trulyvintage
Rained all yesterday here in Central Indiana so I couldn’t pick up … I am on my way now to pick up a running and driving 1957 Pontiac Starchief that has 18K original miles along with original tires and wheels. Found stored in a barn. New owner has been looking for one since he was a kid … I plan on doing a video with the Seller about the background of the car and how he came to find it along with my usual walk around video I take at pick up before loading up. Will post the background video on my YouTube channel and post link here on this thread …. Jim 6
Trulyvintage
What a great morning … Let’s start with Brian’ s 1967 GTO that he spent eight years personally restoring - look carefully at the car cover - it is period correct ! Jim
Trulyvintage
A great interview detailing how the car was found and what was done to it …. @

He is a Pontiac GTO guy … His wife didn’t want him to buy it to begin with … He has owned it about 3 years. He has a small attached garage and his GTO takes up most of the room ( see the first post ). Their driveway is full. His wife wanted it gone. His son wanted him to give him the car … So Brian decided to sell it. Jim

Did you watch the video entirely ? The underside is original with only a light coat of rust. The car runs & drives. The gas tank - rear differential rear leaf springs - driveline are all original. All gauges work except for the gas. The odometer works. The original mileage is documented at 16.4K. Paint - interior - new windshield are necessary maintenance items on a 65 year old family use car. Find a finer 1957 Pontiac Starchief similarly equipped in the Midwest in better condition. Jim
old car fan
I can show you a lot better 59. NICE CAR.Not original. I can show you a 57 Buick. Less than 6000 miles, yes judged.Would love to own it,but never meet judging. Just because it was in your trailer, don't make it original. 1

With 16,400 documented original miles. In similar or better condition. In the Midwest …. Furthermore (see post below) I ” Here is something that is really IMPORTANT!!!! Rusty_OToole
Don't be so hard on the guy. I have seen a lot worse first restorations. He has obviously gone to a lot of work and expense to make it as perfect as he could. My opinion is, welcome to the forum and I hope you have a lot of nice rides in your Pontiac and you and your family have a lot of fun drives and shows. TAKerry
Its a nice car, but I am of the camp that once repainted and new interior it is no longer original. I would not consider paint and int. a necessary replacement. Belts, batteries, brakes etc. 2
Bhigdog
Hey give the guy a break. Everyone is carping about the cars originality. I got news. PONTIAC1953
someone has redone the interior, not what I expect to see in a very low mileage survivor. 2
