deac
Well I just can't get behind that green and black paint scheme, The black is too dominating a color and the difference between the colors is too stark. The pinion seal either leaked for long time or has just been replaced, That rear shock is probably original and needs to be replaced. However the car looks clean.
The 55er
Nice looking car but there are conflicting pictures. Some show the long stainless trim is present on the sides by the taillights and in other shots they're not there. Some pics show a correct wheelcover but the wrong ones (Chryslers?) are on the car in the full shots. Skirts or no skirts? Seller states the mileage is 118,712 and it's "mostly original" but it appears the car has had a lot of cosmetic work done so I don't know what his definition of "original" is. Says electric wipers but there's a vacuum wiper motor on the firewall. Some minor nitpicks are the air cleaner, the car is missing the Pontiac script on the trunk lid and in 1956 the headlight bezels were painted body color. Will be interesting to find out if some buyer thinks this car is worth $25 grand. 2
suchan
Nice car, but what a weird division, and choice, of colors. Agree with Deac about the black. Maybe repaint the black section white, or? Seller should've looked for a stock air cleaner and spent more time cleaning under the hood. Instead of checking Hagerty for guidance on an asking price, seller should've done some research on Olds forums.
avgwarhawk
The color is ok. White roof my set it off a bit better. She appears to be running cherry bomb muffler or similar. Overall not a bad offering IMO. 25K is too much.
kingrudy
At first glance I like this car, but this year Pontiac appeals to me, so a deeper dive is necessary. I have no problem with the two tone paint, sort of like a red and black car which is seen often on Buicks. For 25K you should not be buying a car with original shocks and some explanation is needed on the electric/vacuum wipers. The interior is not original, but I don't have a problem with that and hub caps wouldn't be a deciding factor on weather or not to buy the car. I would like to know if the rear end went south and what was done there. All and all I like the car, just have a couple of questions. I recall a friend of mine had a red and black '56 Buick Century, took it to a show in the middle of summer and the black portion of the paint did not react well with the body work that was done (what a mess). Fossil
When first looking at this car I thought it was a really sharp looking car. After looking at it a few times I've started thinking it might look better in someone else's driveway. In your face color combination.
Marty Roth
While I prefer the style of the 1955, I've been told the 1956 Pontiac has the better engine. The color combination leaves me cold, but at some cost, that could be overcome for the right buyer. Seems decent otherwise - just not my cuppa'
The 55er
IMO the 1955 Star Chief 2-door hardtops were better looking than the 1956s. A fully loaded 1955 coupe in Firegold Metallic & white would be tough to beat.
Rivguy
Color, Color, everywhere. I wonder if this is the original color combo, but it is eye catching! That interior, the older I get, the more I like brighter colored cars.

DrumBob
I usually like 50's two-tone car colors, but the black and turquoise is just too jarring, IMO. White and turquoise would be classier. Looks like a pretty nice car, but I think the price is high. He's going by Hagerty's pricing. I don't know how realistic that it. Brooklyn Beer
Did pontiac really end the two tone over the front fender wheel opening like that ?
The 55er
They did end the two-tone paint like that on the front fender wheel opening but this car is missing the small divider stainless trim pieces right at that spot. The Pontiac parts book called those missing pieces "paint joints". 2
kingrudy
This car has been posted for awhile and there are some questions unanswered. I like the car and realize that it is not perfect, but most cars of this age are not. The question I have is why would you drop the price to $21,300 and then raise it back up to $22;500. I really hate selling cars, maybe I get too attached to them. That said, when I finally make up my mind to sell a car, I know this car inside and out. The price is realistic because I have done my research and that number does not jump around. I would be leery of a seller who moves that price without some explanation. Just sayin'
