TerryB
Before the war, most of the trucks produced by Kew were built for the home market, but after the war, the emphasis shifted to export, with three quarters of the first year's output shipped to Australia and New Zealand.Sold under the "Kew" or "Kew Dodge"name, these Dodge trucks were available in the Netherlands, Peru, the Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, and,of course, the United Kingdom. Kew Dodges were successfully sold through Premier Automobiles inIndia.

Up to at least 1976/77 the Desoto brand name was still on the step plate of Dodge pickups.

Craig The information I posted was a cut &paste from allpar, the MoPar site. I had a Dinky toys British Dodge truck which gave me the early information about these trucks from Great Britain. On the bottom of the toy it said Dodge truck but the toy had no resemblance to a US Dodge.

Another contact for Eric Bannerman: townwagon@hotmail.com I believe it's from the Job Rated era or there about 1948-1953 Dodge Truck Registry Display (townwagon.com) Edited December 7, 2022 by 30DodgePanel (see edit history)

It was built by Briggs and was also used by the Fordson Thames and Leyland Comet. Some export versions were badged Fargo. dictator27
The "parrot nose" Leyland Comet was sold in Canada from 1950 to about 1954 along with the Austin Loadstar.
