• Rare 1963 Mercry Meteor - only built for two years - 260 V8 2bbl rebuilt carb

Not the car that you see every day. I like the small v8 in this car and I like the style, a little different without going full on goofy.

Wow, I really like this car. Mercury intermediates of this era aren't something I see very often, at least around here. And a two door HT example with a V-8 is especially appealing. If I had a little more cash freed up I'd probably be asking AdamInNH to check it for me! 😄 (Thanks for that offer Adam.) I'd only be concerned about rust in that part of the world, but I don't see too much evidence of serious rust.

There has never been a lot of collector interest in these intermediate Meteors. 

I put them on the same par as a 53-54 Plymouth.... they may be nice but they don't bring a lot of money.

The beginning of rust in several pictures would bother me. You can't cover that up with pinstripes. I would like to see the underside of this car.

Pinstripes are removable with easy off oven cleaner will not effect the paint.

Always liked the downsized Meteors and Fairlanes. They were "right-sized" - not as drastic as similar year Mopars (and not as jarringly styled), and they made GM sit up and take notice. These cars did in the GM Y-body cars.

 

Mercury had nice styling in early 60s and Comet, Meteor and the big cars shared a lot of brand identity styling cues.

 

Never mind they were "dressed-up Fords".

It is also good that it has the 260 "Challenger" V8 and not the 221 which was a bit of a wheezer. This car is pretty well optioned with power steering and brakes beside the automatic transmission. I agree that a thorough examination for rust issues is a necessity.
