Or, for only $32K more, you could have this one!  😄 (I know this is a bit off-topic, but I'm just looking for an excuse to post these stunning photos.  This is by far the nicest '41 Chrysler interior I've ever seen.  Plenty more photos on the Hemmings site.)

That dash and steering wheel are really unusual! What is that finish called? Surely not wood grained.

I believe it was called "Mottled" plastic.

I had to look it up, so.....

Definition of mottled - "marked with spots or smears of color"

Not Bakelite.  Bakelite is opaque and doesn't let you get this kind of design.  Tenite cellulosic from Eastman was getting a lot of interest in this era because of all the color and pattern options it permitted.  This is a stunning interior.
