auburnseeker
Looks really nicely restored (checkout the graining on the dash) until you get under the hood. Wonder why it's so scruffy with the rest being so nice. Bad storage?
Hudsy Wudsy
What a crummy time of year to offer a car for sale in Bemidji! Believe me, folks, Bemidji doesn't look, or especially, feel anything like the photos of this Hudson now in February. Awe, c’mon Jim………if you can’t make it by car, rent a dogsled! This one is nice but I agree it’s scruffy under hood. Also lots of wrinkles in the upholstery.
Hudsy Wudsy
Yeah, these are always kind of funny looking under the hood anyway. The engine is recessed so far into the firewall that they look like they are powered by Briggs and Straton. It might be hard to get at that little engine, but it sure would be worth the effort to clean it up.

This is the kind of car which I notice in the "Not Mine" category: Already in nice condition without needing much. When a similar car in rough condition costs $5000 or $8000, it's not nearly as good a deal as one with love and care already lavished on it. John, 1939 Hudsons seem to have a near zero survival rate, it was such a surprise to find this one available and in nice condition. It's a rare opportunity for the pre-war Hudson enthusiasts to acquire one. i can count all the 1939 Hudsons I've ever seen on one hand. Hudsy Wudsy
A good percentage of '39 Hudsons are flawed because they stiil have pod headlights. 1939 Hudson model 112:

roysboystoys
Very rare to find one with undamaged grill pieces. A little time refitting the seat covers would make it a nice car. Good riding and handling cars for the era.
alextheantiqueautoguy
I'm still trying to figure out Hudson's naming pattern BUT... I understand the 1939 Hudson 112 is aka the Series 90 with a 112" wheelbase. The car is advertised as Series 92 which would make it the Hudson Standard Six with a 118" wheelbase. The pod headlights were only on the Series 90 cars, so I believe the car being offered is a 1939 Hudson 112, Series 90 4dr Touring Sedan. Can anyone clear this up for me? 58L-Y8
Consulting the book, The History of Hudson by Don Butler, only the 1939 Hudson 112 exhibited the older styling with headlight pods attached to the grille shell and heavy grille bars only. All other series 91, 92, 93, 95 and 97 had the headlight integrated into the front fender ends and fine horizontal grille bars plus side 'catwalk' grilles. How they varied the wheelbases was largely through longer front clip components, except for the two topline 129" wb Series 97 Custom Country Club Eight which have lengthened bodies. Addendum: the side grilles on the 112 below were optional trim accessories that could be purchased to dress-up one's 112. avgwarhawk
Integrated headlights is a much more appealing and cleaner look for this model. Nice looking car.
Fossil
The bug eyed headlights sure makes the car look older. Can't decide which looks better. Both are nice.
