Considering the color Ugly Trucks might be a good place to sell this.

The rest of the car appears to be very doable.  The front design is appealing. Too bad we don't know more about the drive trains condition.

That looks like an overdrive knob under the dash, to the left of the steering column. Whether it functions isn't important enough to the seller to mention. DeSotos, and other Chrysler products were so handsome in '36 but got bulbous and homely in a hurry after that. Still, I love them.

Very interesting car. I like the Art Deco. Sitting out in the BC elements won’t do it or its lot companions much good, though. Found this picture on the dealer Facebook page. Not even considering its lack of shelter, too many miles away and one too many international borders to seriously consider.

For those who may be familiar with Mopars and Desotos, how often do 1938 S5s like this seem to come up? I’ve only seen a couple in the past few years. I recall this slantback example from a couple years ago and it sold at auction for ~$27K.

How often do they come up with overdrives? That's the real question. An overdrive means the difference between driving the car around the neighborhood occasionally and loading the family up and going for a comfortable Sunday drive at freeway speed. The transmissions alone sell for over a thousand dollars.

1938 Desoto sedan 3 speed with overdrive. Suicide doors looks to be mostly original. Some minor paint peeling but rare to find this old of car in this great of shape running and interior intact. Inline 6       email: 6d2ae3a34a95328987cf52271343bf1d@sale.craigslist.org

Too much red and too many doors for 20K.

The number of doors doesn’t bother me but that’s a Pepto-Bismol price for sure.

Yes there is. Just East of me by about 40 miles. Mostly a farming area, but suburban housing is starting to build up. I always wondered if lonesome Mary lives in Chilliwack.
