Jeff Perkins / Mn
One of my favorite Chrysler body styles but not a favorite color........
auburnseeker
I wonder if the chrome bumpers are faded or just dirty? They just look dirty to me. A good cleaning so they were gleeming might help sell it since chrome is so expensive these days and would make the car present a whole lot better. suchan
Looks like a good deal for the price, but agree about the color. Looks good on period Buicks; not so much here. Seller needs to post some interior/engine pics.
58L-Y8
I wondered why no interior photos too, always helps to sell a car if the interior is good. Would a two-tone would help make the French vanilla ice cream color pop, a cordovan top perhaps?
auburnseeker
You have to be careful with two tone paint jobs. Alot of 40's cars look better solid color. Too bad this one wasn't a better color. It worked better on the 48 Plymouth I had than this Chrysler but looks to be a very similar shade.
JRHaelig
One of my favorite noses (after Sabrina). Of course my taste in noses may be called into question as I have a '39 Buick and a '39 Ford pickup, arguably 2 of the more unusual visages of the art deco era. Guest
So, would this be equipped with a 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed standard trans? Also, is the emblem above the trunk mounted light an add on? Cheers, Greg
JACK M
It would be a fluid drive and trunk emblem is original. Might be a broken or missing trunk handle.
Guest
Thanks Jack. Yes, I see the emblem better now in your picture. So is that a "yes" to the 6 cylinder? Or were these cars available with an 8? Greg
neil morse
The Windsor is the six and the New Yorker is the eight. Same body style, but the New Yorker has a longer wheel base to accommodate the longer engine.

Started as a Windsor but found a clapped out NY sedan so used that longer chassis, hood and fenders to make my own NY. Not many NY business coupes but they did make them. The six inches is all ahead of the firewall. The guy that I bought the Windsor coupe from had already done the taillights and also frenched the headlights and smoothed the hood. Couldn't use the front fenders and hood but I suspect there will be a guy sporting those parts in the Portland area some time soon.

58L-Y8
Hi Lebowski Thanks for getting the seller's number, I get "an error has occurred" about half the time when I click to get the phone number, no rhyme or reason.

Lebowski
I called Roger and asked about the car. He's owned it for 30 years and said that the battery won't hold a charge. He said that the interior was redone and is the best part of the car. He said some college kids painted it a few years ago and it's still in decent condition. He just drives it around his small town and didn't know how it would do at 60 on the freeway. He's going to text me some pics tonight so I will post them here after my wife emails them back to me....
