mummosmom
CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THIS HUBCAP. I BOUGHT 7 OF THEM AT AN ESTATE SALE. THE GUY THOUGHT THEY WERE FROM A 1931 PONTIAC BUT I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING TO BACK THAT UP. ANY THOUGHTS OR GUESSES WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. gossp
Over the years I have seen several aftermarket hubcaps that had a script that resembled the company script but for, I assume, legal reasons, did not spell out the oem name. I had 39 Chevy caps with dashes where the letters go and ford caps that said “fooo”. My guess is these are something similar, perhaps for studebaker? Guest
They certainly are not from a Series 401 Pontiac. They look like aftermarket caps that were sold to make you think they were make specific. Obviously made for demountable steel wheels.

John_S_in_Penna
Is it correct to say that, being after-market, these hub caps would have very little desirability or value to antique-car fans? How about to street-rodders?
28 Chrysler
They may work in a pinch or for a trailer. What size are they ?

Guest
There is a market for everything. A fellow I knew with a mid thirties Buick had four sets of these on his wall. At first glance they all looked they spelled Buick but each manufacturer had stylized them differently to get around copyright or patent.
nzcarnerd
When I was in the US in 1978 I met a guy who had a whole warehouse full of this sort of stuff.
Dosmo
My initial thought is that the pattern on this aftermarket item resembles an Oldsmobile cap that I've seen.
Paul Dobbin
Fake Model A Ford caps said Fool, maybe these say something as silly or nothing. Good wall hangers! I had "Fool" on my Model A wheel air hose hanger.
