JohnRoy
We have a 1917 Buick located in the yard and the engine/transmission in storage. What would she have been? John P. Roy (706) 829-5276 jpernoroy@gmail.com
dei
It is only a guess on my part but by the looks of the body lines, especially the cowl it would be more likely to be a sedan (model unknown) in the early to mid 20's. The artillery wheels look heavier than the teen's also. If you have access to the motor check the numbers on the block and post. I'm sure someone familiar with this era can help you identify better given that information. Good luck.
bubba
Looks to be a 1926 sedan. The model is on the plate on the firewall which amazingly is still there.
Leif Holmberg
It`s a 1927 model 27 (Std.model.) 4 dr. Leif in Sweden.
JohnRoy
Thanks for the information. The old-timer had 1917 on the engine, but I guess he was wrong. So, it looks as though we have an engine and transmission for a 1927 Model 27 Sedan. I wish that there was more there...he said that it came from a junkyard in Savannah, GA, a few years ago, but the condition has only worsened since then. Here is a dumb question...when someone says "Pre-War Car," what war are we talking about? WWI or WWII? JohnRoy
That is what I thought, too. I asked because my posting was moved to the "Buick-Post War" Section. Thank you for clearing that up for me!
MrEarl
Sorry JohnRoy, was on my cell phone when I moved it and I guess my eyesight ain't what it use to be. Hopefully I'll get it right this time.

JohnRoy
Here are some pictures of the Buick Engine and Transmission. The Top Head is missing, though. Edited January 27, 2017 by JohnRoy mistake (see edit history)
dibarlaw
Yep, definitely 1927 engine. Look at all those bent push rods!
