Ed,

Buick made in-line sixes from 1914 to 1930, but this is not for one of those. This is for the small series straight eight. I know because I measured the length of the cylinder head on one of my 263 straight eights, and it is the same measurement as shown in Mr. Earl's photo.

1941-1953 small series. Spacing on holes for the studs is different from the cover used on1936 - 1940. Also vent louvers were added in 1941to try and overcome condensation complaints of the earlier covers.
