1950 Buick - wrecker?

Looking at the other photos on the link, this is pretty sure to be a flower car that had a fold-away tow rig added. There's too much "flower car" on it for it to be purpose-built just to tow (bed cover fasteners, bed rails, etc.). Roof is a cut-down hardtop roof. From the cut lines still showing, looks like it was 2 seams straight across to get that roof. The back doors of the 4-door are still showing (they didn't weld them up).

As for the extra vent-ports - it's got the wrong hood. The side trim is all '51, so just change for a '51-'52 hood and you're all set.

I remember seeing this car several years ago at the Turlock Calif January swapmeet.    It was sitting in the staging area prior to entry to the swapmeet and it sold before entering the meet!   The reason for the 50 hood is simple.  The car is an early 50 Buick and the tool for opening the hood was in the pouch on the drivers side kick panel.    The early 50's used a "special" tool to open the hood.    The pictures do not do it justice.  There were air line fittings and jumper cable connectors near the back of the car and other gadgets.  Well thought out design.    Notice the gas door opening on each side of the car. The right hand one was an access for air if I recall correctly .   Doubt if it was born a flower car
