KLF
I was saving this to use on my 34 conv. but that's not going to happen now as I'm going to leave the rear mount spare on it. This rack is in great shape with minimal small dents. Surface rust only. The Dodge emblem and the chrome strips were gone when I acquired this rack. All the mounting hardware appears to be there. These don't show up very often! $400US. Shipping from Vancouver Canada.Ken brasstguy at gmail.com Lowered price $300. Let's talk! dep5
The rack you picture is designed to fit a sedan. I am attaching a photo of a 1934 Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth coupe luggage rack frame mounting bracket. A 1933 Dodge-Plymouth bracket has a thinner flange at the location of the red arrow. KLF
Thanks for the info. I did wonder if the sedan and coupe had the same brackets. Now I know!Ken

KLF
IanThanks for the "after" picture of your trunk rack. It looks great all restored. It really finishes off the rear of the car when you have side mounts. Too bad there wasn't a provision for the rack to be used in conjunction with the rear spare like the Fords do. Both my 34's are rear spare cars and I do like the looks of a luggage rack back there.I've been following the progress on your sedan for the last few years. You are doing a very impressive restoration. It is an inspiration for the rest of us.Ken
Ian_Greenlaw
Thanks Ken for compliment. It's not perfect by any means but trying to do the best I can with the limited skills I have.I'd like to see pics of your cars if possible.CheersIan

solcitoblue
Hi Dep5, I have these same brackets for my 34 ply coupe, I have been looking for the rubber grommets with no luck, any help on where I can find these? Also, how do these rubber pieces get inserted in the brackets, doesn't look they will go in through neither ends. Thanks in advance ...
TomP
These rubber Grommets will be available soon, not quite to the original spec but pretty close have produced in natural but trying to locate black. The fitting of these is not easy if fact the originals over time would start to split where they are stretched over the angled section where they bolt on to the rear frame member, I suggest that washing up liquid be used as a lubricant or a petrolatum jelly otherwise you could break a nail. please contact me via the email option. These sample parts in white will accept a coating of rubberized paint should that be of interest .

TomP
Hi Gents, these are available if they are of interest, they will fit the PD, PE, PF & PG Coupes, not sure if the Dodge Coupe had the same rear valance but sure someone will chip in. For the last 3 yrs I have a pair of these nailed to a piece of timber sitting on the top of a container to make sure the elements will not affect them. When lockdown is through I will take a ride out to my unit where I think I may have approx 10 pairs.

Ian_Greenlaw
These were not bought, they were made. I got the exact same size rounded brass and had them cut to the correct length. Then had the ends finished off to match the originals. Brazed threads attached to the rounded brass in the right locations and then chrome plate. The result you see is in the photo. Hope this helps Cheers Ian
TomP
Managed to find the safe place I'd stored the brackets, I want to get a short video made before I offer these for sale. Fireball3553
Was wondering if you still have the luggage rack for a 33-34 Dodge. Do you know where one can be had if you don't have yours. Thanks
TomP
Sorry, afraid I don't, to be honest I haven't seen one come up, I only have the one for my 33 PD Coupe. The Sedan I think is based on steel brackets and bent stays which if you can come up with drawings a steel fabrication shop could make one. Fireball3553
James Durden from Weeds, CA is looking for a rack for his '34 Dodge sedan. You can find him on FB. I did send him a message tonight. jiminyfixit
This looks like a 33-34 sedan rack. The brackets are typical of sedans. I notice that the emblem is upside down, & the rack has been "whomped" on a bit but who cares. I am in need of one just like this if it is for sale, even if it isn't for sale. jiminyfixit
BTW, it would also be for a Chrysler & possibly DeSoto. Plymouth had a raised bump where the emblem goes & Dodge & Chrysler were flat.
jiminyfixit
I stand corrected by AACA members smarter than me. These are coupe brackets. Ian's luggage rack has the sedan brackets, which I am now looking for. Chrysler was smart, they used the same holes in the sheet metal & frame for the spare tire bracket AND the luggage rack. This made it a no-brainer for the dealer ship to accommodate customers' whims. I now have some coupe brackets available. Live & learn. I'm having fun!!!
