Wow ... it would be nice to get out to the garage behind the house and do some wrenching. Still too cold up here in Canada. And, I have a rebuilt transmission in the USA just waiting for you guys to open your border so I can get it and have it put back in the car. Anyone know how to get an old car transmission declared "essential" ? Bill McL

Keiser31 is correct. It's a 1929 Buick model 54CC - a 4 passenger convertible coupe. One of 19 different models offered that year. This car has the optional Artillery Wood wheels and also an after-market light of some kind near the top front of the driver's door. I have a couple of China pieces. The first is a poster advertising the 1929 Buick and the second is a brass plaque that, I believe, was attached to the wall outside the office door at General Motors China. Bill McLaughlin 1929 Silver Anniversary Buick Club

I have a female trickle charger plug-in in my 29 McLaughlin Buick, equipped with 2 Optima batteries in parallel, and it will charge / run a phone's GPS. Maybe because it's a McLaughlin Buick (When better Buicks are made McLaughlin will be making them) ??? Bill McLaughlin 1929 McLaughlin Buick Roadster -
Do the front mount bolts line-up with the frame bolt holes ? On my 29, I had to stretch the rear springs to get the bolt holes to line-up. I chained the rear axle to a post and chained the front to a Jeep and slowly pulled the springs about 4” and the bolts dropped in. Bill McLaughlin

I have found there are a few LED head light bulbs around and it's important to get ones that focus properly. Classic and vintage Bulbs down in Australia manufacture a headlight LED, 6v high and low beam that works very well. As Iunderstand the arrangement of the LEDs should be close as possible to the positioning of an original type bulb filament, like a 1000, to work well and give a good Dipped and High beam in a original reflector. www.classicandvintagebulbs.com Bill McLaughlin 1929 McLaughlin Buick

Has anyone had contact with American Arrow recently. I know that Don Sommers passed away a short while ago. I have been unsuccessful in contacting them on behalf of a friend in Australia who is looking for his pre-paid 1929 Buick radiator mascot. Any information would be appreciated. OleBug, your 29 looks more like a roadster (vs. a 29-46S which was a Sport Coupe). However, the door hinges look wrong for a Stewart bodied roadster. Could it be a coupe made into a roadster ? Bill McLaughlin Publisher - 1929 Silver Anniversary Buick Newsletter

Depending on what you're going to do with the car (ie. a cosmetic vs. a full restoration) you might consider a cheap used set of tires to get the car home and move it during the restoration - and then buy a new set towards the end of the restoration. Bill McLaughlin 1929 McLaughlin Buick
