  1. Peecher, Do you think I am just asking for trouble by going to a duce set up? The engine idles so smooth now with the single intake. From What I have gained from The experienced thoughts given -- I wonder??
  2. I have an Edmonds dual intake manifold. I also have the carbs to install. I don't have the linkage. Is this a progressive linkage or is it direct? Where can I get the correct linkage set up? Also, does the dual carb set up present any special problem that I need to be aware of. The intake manifold requires a three bolt carb attachment. Both of my carbs have a 4 bolt base, I need to get two, three bolt bases, does this present any special issues with the carbs? any comments will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas. 3. That is a great concept, unfortunately my money supply would not support that purchase, I am limited to buying a good used Lincoln. I have had phenomenal luck. I am on my 5th used Lincoln I buy the extended warranty from Ford--its a worry free drive. Thanks for the info. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  4. What is a "Black Label" dealer? I am looking for another MKX--not a new one but 2011 with about 32 to 38k on the clock. My current one just topped 90k sot its time? Glenn Lorei b6vt
  5. Go to "SOURCES" in the menu for LZOC and contact KEPICH EXhaust. They have a lady who will fix you up.. She did my '48 LC from stem to stern and the result was beautiful, and it was reasonable Glenn Lorei
  6. Several years ago when I bought my '48 LC The title had it identified as a 1947 and had the body number as the vin. After inquiring to LZOC I found the Vin on the frame, in both places. The boss on the transmission was not imprinted , as I'm sure it had been replaced. I went to the dmv they told me I had to have it inspected by the Missouri Highway Patrol , which I did and then found that it was a '48 instead of a '47. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  7. Keith L., Can you do anything with the maroon steering wheel on a '48 LC., It has a crack near the hub on one side. Fill the crack with like material??? Glenn
  8. That is truly a basic comment to describe the LZOC. I have had the same friendly and so knowledgeable help. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  9. Somewhere, earlier, there was a post regarding re engineering the front brakes on later Lincoln cars--40's and later. Where a ford pick up disk brake set would work. Check the file to see. I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  10. Abe, Thanks so much for the dimensions. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  11. They would call it a P.O.S. in Missouri also. Glenn Lorei b6vt
  12. There is a company called engineshipping.com. I have used them and I have found them to be reasonable and prompt. I sold a Lincoln v12,engine to a fellow in upper New York. They handled the job. I put it on a pallet, strapped it down and they came to my home with a truck and pallet jack and it was done and gone. For those who need assistance in that area. 13. Could you give me the dimensions of the unit and source. Thanks. Glenn Lorei
  14. With the alcohol infused gasoline we have now and the water attraction qualities of alcohol would it not be better to drain the tank??? b6vt
  15. I'm concerned about the diameter of the pancake. It would seem that it would not be good to have it larger than the height of the frame. On a second question--I have to adjust the brakes. What is the direction to turn the adjuster? Up or down with the spoon to tighten on the driver's side and the opposite of that direction on the passenger side??? Thanks in advance. b6vt glenn Lorei
  16. I am currently in the process of, with the help of my good friend, installing a rebuilt master cylinder in my 1948 LC coupe. The subject came up about installing a power brake unit. It would sure improve the braking capabilities of this car instead of driving a quarter mile ahead. I saw a unit that was remotely installed, no pancake--can anyone direct me to that unit?? Glenn Lorei b6vt
  17. Several years ago when Knob Soup was in it's infancy, I had inquired about a push button surround for a door opener on my '48 LC. It was around Christmas time and he sent me two, free, and a note saying Merry Christmas. They are really nice people too. Glenn Lorei
  18. My suggestion--Since you have the windshield wiper tower removed from the cowl, get another w/s wiper tower. It should be a simple fix. Repairing it would probably not be a satisfactory solution. I would bet some one has one lying about. Glenn Lorei
  19. There is a previous thread which describes a no gain 12 volt system. As long as there is NO feed back to the 6 volt system you wont have a problem.
  20. I have '48 LC. I would like to find a dry cartridge to substitute the oil bath cleaner. Does any one have a workable experience? I don't want to ruin the current breather. Glenn Lorei
  21. PT Barnum was right!!!! g lorei b6vt
  22. I bought my car in 2008. A 1948 Continental coupe. I have not finished yet. I suppose I will always have something that needs to be improved. I am trying very hard keep it as original as possible. And yes, I have been discouraged a time or two. I think that in the long run having that work or art in my garage is a real kick. The car you have is worth all of the frustration. The hunt for parts and getting to know the guys in the LZOC is also a neat experience. Don't lose patience--it will be worth it. Glenn Lorei
  23. I have an Edmunds dual intake manifold and two rebuilt carbs waiting to be installed. I need a fuel manifold and the linkage. Do you know where I can get this. Glenn Lorei
  24. Sorry about that--didn't catch on that it was an auction. Glenn Lorei
  25. Is the Chrome in good condition if so, How Much? Glenn Lorei
