  1. What kind of car are you working on?
  2. The owners manual covers maintenance items. Everything else is covered in the service manual books that I put the link to. If you need the body information like how to take window regulators from the doors, etc, then also pick up the Fisher Body book also.
  3. Here is some additional information Delco-Light - GMnext
  4. Ebay is the best place. They come up regularly. Here is a link. 1967 buick service manual, eBay Motors, Collectibles. Great deals on eBay!
  5. Will need to change engine calibration if you change axle ratios.
  6. I would like to say that Hummer is not a domestic/US brand. It is a global brand and the mistake that GM management has made is that only 20% of Hummer sales should come from North America and the other 80% from the rest of the world. GM management has been focused on the majority of Hummer sales in the North American market which is wrong. There will always be persons in the world that will want to say with or without words that their vehicle is bigger than yours regardless of the price of fuel. Also, how do you make a vehicle like Hummer and not put a diesel engine in it??? The missteps by GM are unbelieveable.
  7. What is amazing is that this actually made the front pages of most newspapers including the Wall Street Journal today. Usually Toyota gets a pass on all recalls or problems with their vehicles. If there is any note of it in a newspaper it is usually relagated to about one inch of column on page 16 b in the galley. An example is the engine sludging issue. They blamed the consumer for not changing the oil enough.
  8. Hummer should not be sold/ given away as it is a global brand with large brand equity. The problem with GM is that the management cannot do any portfolio management of multiple brands. It is a shame the position that the FOP club has done to GM.
  9. Here are some pictures of the carb. The aperture where it fits onto the manifold is 36 mm (about 1 3/16"), and the spacing between the bolts is about 65 mm (2.5"). Appreciate the help.
  10. I have a 6 cylinder cowl if that is something that you might need. Will add a picture later.
  11. Talk about cars that might have been considered unsafe. I remember reading about the early Toyota vans when the first generation came out in I think a Car&Driver magazine(?) or maybe another car magazine. It showed with only two persons in the van with the brake agressively applied the rear wheels came off the ground. Had a picture of the van with no rear wheels touching the ground in the magazine.
  12. If you are charging the battery from one car to the other, I would have the key for the car being charged off while the charging car is running.
  13. Why would you change the O2 sensor? If it is scanning at a good rate, it is not necessary.
  14. It would have been an AC spark plug since the AC Spark Plug plant was across the street from the Buick plant at the time.
  15. Are you looking for 4 or 6 cylinder car parts?
  16. Probably depends on your declared residency even though taxes will be part of the decision.
  17. Here is a date code chart for snap on tools. Snap On Date Code Chart up to 2029! - The Garage Journal Board
  18. I would check with American Arrow in Clawson, Mi That is their specialty American Arrow Don Sommer
  19. Not necessarily. On my truck it was running hot and had coolant/water leaking around the water pump seals. When I went to the 50/50 antifreeze mix it stopped running hot and the water pump seals stopped leaking. The only reason that i could see it boiling out is if there is a problem in the cooling system. Remember when those cars were new they used alcohol as antifreeze.
  20. The first question is what brand of paint system are you going to use. If Dupont, or PPG, or what ever, the first thing that I would do is to contact the supplier and ask them what kind of metal prep that you need to use that is compatable with their paint. Sometimes using one of the steps of material from a different supplier will cause problems with the final paint finish. Try to do the paint job with all of the materials from the same manufacturer for the best results.
  21. The reason that the smaller auto companies went out of business after the stock market crash and after WW2 was because of the lack of capital. A car company is unlike many other businesses in the amount of money it takes to product. On a simple formula, if the average car has 15,000 parts and each part takes tooling that might be only $100,000.00 per part, what is the sum of the capital to build the car. (15,000 X $100,000.00= A LOT!!) Now you might say that a particular part does not take a 100G, but other parts like body dies might cost 100-250 million for a particular car. The small manufacturers just ran out of money. When you put a certain number of cars amortized over a fixed tooling cost, the tooling per car goes down and that is where you make money. Simple economics.
  22. How long has the gas been sitting in it? Could also be a restricted/gummed up carb.
  23. The ones from NAPA look like the carriage bolts with the stainless steel cap
