  1. Also the anvil just behind the sledge hammer. Don't see a forge, but bet there is one close.
  2. I agree with Wayne, If you are going to buy a trailer, especially an enclosed one, make a spreadsheet with what you want and have the trailer dealers bid to the spec sheet so you are comparing apples to apples. It was a big eye opener when I moved from what the dealer had on the lot to asking the dealer to please price to what I want on the sheet. I am very happy that I created the sheet to do the comparisons. I feel that I got a good trailer at a fair price.
  3. Steve, Fix your e-mail box. The message & diagram was returned saying that you only accept pre-approved emails. Larry
  4. Steve, I have one. Send me an email address. Larry
  5. Can you post at picture of what you are looking for?
  6. If it is what I think it is, I used to use a piece of brake line to replace the rusted line.
  7. Will be sending them out this week
  8. I will finally end the discussion as to the thread pitch and size. It is a 10-24 bolt that is about 5/8" long. I have included a picture for everyone to see. Hopefully it will come through. And yes Taco, that is your bolt. :-) Regards,
  9. I would agree with you about the lack of/old/not enough/different type of hardener/ etc, except the original post said that they used a single stage paint.
  10. One question that comes to mind is did the painter use the same brand of materials for all parts of the job? That includes primer, surfacer, the paint? Mixing different brands of product would be a place to start?
  11. The top part in the picture is a fuel rail for a multi port fuel injected V6 engine. The spot at the top left is where the fuel pressure regulator is attached. The schrader valve is to check fuel pressure. Looks like it might have come off a Buick 3.8 / 3800 engine, but that is just a GUESS. T do not recognize the second part.
  12. All of the GM dealers were send a set of the special keys to be able to get the wheel covers off. You might want to check with the local dealer and see if they have them left. Secondly, you should be able to buy the correct key from the dealer. I think I remember there being about 10 different wrenches. If that fails, then there is ebay. I have seen the wrenches on there for sale.
  13. Check with Tom Black from up state NY. He is in the Buick Pre-War group. He has fixed them.
  14. Taco, Send me a pm and I will see if I can help you.

    handles

everything looks like GM from the early 60's. The shift knob looks like Corvair first series. From the top to the bottom, door opening handles, vent window crank, vent window lock without crank(manual vents), and the shift knob with I do not recognize the other two pieces.
  16. Just a thought, Did you try a truck supplier/ truck stop. Some of the add on mirrors might be about that size.
  17. John, What are you looking for? There is a lot of stuff on E-bay where I have bought some items. Larry
  18. One other item that you need to be careful of is putting a front wheel drive vehicle on the lift. The reason is that if it is not positioned correctly and it has an empty fuel tank and you take the rear wheels off, it could take a nose dive to the floor. This is because it is front heavy. It would not be the first time this happened. I have seen this happen several times. One of the things that you might do if there is any thought it might take a dive is to strap the vehicle to the lift, maybe between the doors of some other point. Better to be safe than sorry. :-)

    GM

The real decline in the American auto industry started with the elevation of Roger Smith to the head of GM in 1980. He started the binge of selling parts of the company and spending the money just like many homeowners did in the last decade. Every time the value of the house went up, they remortgaged the house and spend the money. Now that the housing prices have gone down( like auto sales down from 17.5 million annual sales a year ago to probably less than 10 million this year) the house is going to be lost. Prior to Roger, the guys that ran the car companies knew that you needed to keep 20-30 billion in the bank to last the down turns that happen. You saw that when Daimler took over Chrysler and sucked $26 Billion right out of their rainy day fund back to Stutgart almost over night. Sad time.
  20. In the teens, I would put at least one truck. A good one would be a 15-16 Buick truck which a majority of production was sent to Europe for ambulances in WWI.
