  1. 1954 Buick Skylark 1954 Olds Starfire 1958 Pontiac Bonneville 1957 Chrysler 300 1954 Packard Carribean All of these would be convertibles
  2. I have used Pertronix ignition in all of my Buicks now for the last 15 years and I have never had any problems with them. In fact, my cars run smoother, use less gas, and have a little more power. I would not hesitate to use Pertronix.
  3. I bought two of them years ago for my '54 and my '55 and it made a difference in handling light night and day. I highly recommend them.
  4. Do not take your engine to a rebuilder that mainly rebuilds Chevy engines. They do not know how to properly rebuild a Buick engine!
  5. Your '55 is a great looking car. I have a '55 too and the hinges work good.
  6. Actually, if you guys didn't have to be under the hood all of the time your hood springs would keep their tension! Ha Ha

  13. I need the rear springs.
  14. The shocks themselves are the same. The difference is in the arm.
  15. Stockton Wheel
  16. Buick did not have "matching numbers" in 1953. It wasn't until 1957 that they had "matching numbers."
  17. You might want to adjust the anchor pins.
  18. That transmission is for the small engines only (248, 263 I8 and 264 V8).
  19. Yes, The '62 can be converted to self-adjusters. NAPA should have all of the parts for that.
  20. I have used Pertronix ignition in all of my Buicks now for the last 20 years and I have had absolutely no problems with them!
  21. My 1955 Special leaks from the rear main seal and I have decided that buying motor oil and cleaning up my drip pan is a lot cheaper than pulling the engine and resealing it. The engine has 65,000 miles and has never been apart and it runs like a clock. I use 10W 30 conventional oil and was wonder if using synthetic oil would be better for this engine. I have heard that synthetic oil would cause it to leak more.
  22. The bumper was plated about 5 years ago by the Best Chrome out of San Martin, CA and has been kept wrapped and in dry garage storage. I'll take some pictures this week. I'll pack and ship for cost. Steve
