  1. Chrysler products of this era had what appeared to be chopped tops from the factory. My very first antique car I owned in the 60's was a 1932 PB Plymouth 4 door. The center of the windshield was the span of my thumb to middle finger, roughly 8 inches. Howard Dennis
  2. John, any chance this could be a Desoto? Radiator shell just looks too rounded to be a Plymouth to me. Howard Dennis
  3. Andrew, thanks for the assist. I was able, with the help of my son-in-law, to capture this image and thanks to you will be able to pass it on to a fellow who may own a later version of this option that seems to be only printed in your add and no where else. Just when everyone says " they NEVER made one of those" turns out they did! Howard Dennis
  4. Any chance you could post that electronic copy here so I could add it to my files and pass it on to the fellow who asked me about this to start with? Howard Dennis
  5. Either spark intensifiers or static suppressors. Howard Dennis
  6. I've gotten other books from them but they don't have any 1914 Maxwell literature. Thanks, Howard
  7. A while back I pulled this picture off an eBay auction because I had never seen this body style before. I stupidly forgot to record what the literature was. Does anyone recognize this picture and know or have the literature it was published in? Howard Dennis
  8. Thanks for the offer Bob. I found nothing wrong and reassembled it. Still no free play but I'll just have to live with it. Howard Dennis
  9. Have any condensers for 1917 Maxwell with Atwater Kent Type CC distributors? Howard Dennis
  10. Bob, check your private messages. Howard Dennis
  11. Bob, I'm going to go over all my saved pictures and literature but I believe that although you are right about the engine having a pump it isn't a very good one as all it is designed to do is lift the oil up into the valve chamber so it can run to the tappets and back down to the main bearings and rod bearings by gravity and it doesn't really create pressure like a modern engine. Howard Dennis
  12. To me the Ala Kart will always be the best car George ever created. It's beauty has not faded at all over all the decades since it was made. That is one gorgeous show car! Howard Dennis
  13. Were you able to find a drum? I have some off later 1916-7 Maxwells that are 12 1/2 inches and have 6 holes. Howard Dennis
  14. Wig, are these what you are looking for? Howard Dennis
  15. Thanks Bob,Well I guess that explains that. Wish I was too! Howard Dennis
  16. Anyone know if RJ&L Obsolete in Penfield, NY is still in business? They make spark plug wire sets, battery cables, wire terminals and copper mesh air filters. I need some battery cables made and they don't seem to be answering their phone. If not, who else can I call and order custom battery cables by phone and get fast service? Howard Dennis
  17. Hwellens, Thanks, I was hoping maybe someone had a similar listing that covered the trucks. Howard Dennis
  18. Recently a post showed a page from "National Used Car Market Report" that showed where to find serial numbers on Maxwell cars. Does anyone know if such a list exists for Maxwell Trucks? Howard Dennis
  19. Hwellens, Thanks so much for posting this information. Not only is it the most complete I've ever seen, it is the first time I've seen the features of the "early and late" 1917 Maxwells listed. While we are on this subject, Does anyone have any information on Maxwell truck serial numbers, especially frame locations of the numbers? Howard Dennis

    Vern Campbell

Just read this on the MTFCA Forum: Vern Campbell recently lost his battle with cancer – he died on Thursday, August 27, about 4:00 pm. Vern was a true friend of all Model T’ers – his sincere kindness and profound spirit to help anyone will never be forgotten. Those of you who attended the Michigan Jamboree this year benefitted from his sincere words that he sent along for the invocation at our banquet last Saturday. His words touched all of us. Our ceremonial “Vern Campbell Watermelon Tribute” on Friday evening at the Jamboree was also very well-received by all. A special thanks once again goes to Dave/Dan Martin for bringing Vern’s Model T to the Jamboree. A memorial service will be held in Vern’s honor on Sunday, September 20, 4:00 pm, at the People’s Presbyterian Church of Milan, 210 Smith Avenue, Milan, Michigan 48160. I didn't know Vern personally but he was very helpful anytime I had a question about my Maxwell restoration and gave me many tips and encouragements. It seemed to me that he was the only thing that held the Maxwell community together and he was the keeper of the "Maxwell Registry". My condolences to his friends and family. Howard Dennis
  22. Been a long time and my memory may be foggy but I remember reading somewhere that these were Chrysler bodies put on the less expensive Dodge chassis to generate sales. It also said when the corporate bean counters got wind of these they stopped production claiming they were loosing money on each one. I do remember being amazed that the entire interior was leather, not just the tops of the seats, and we are talking a lot of hides for this large interior. Howard Dennis
  23. Owned a rough one 30 years ago and at that time there were 15 known survivors. Howard Dennis
  24. You should post this further down in the Maxwell Section. Howard Dennis
