  1. Joe, The torque tub on your car is entirely different then on my model S. Or maybe it just looks different because I didn't have the Sheetmetal cover over the top to keep the road crap out?? Mine has a spool that adjusts in or out and a lock that retains it.

  4. Im looking for at least a 4 inch up to 5 inch flange as shown flat or for rounded tanks. If I can buy or borrow one Ill have several cast at the Cattail Foundry in Bronze. This one shown is only 3.5 inches. Mike West Livonia NY 585 738 1541
  5. I was in Lancaster PA today to pickup some castings at Cattail Foundry and a set of wheels at Witmer Coach that the made new. I took with me a set of wood wheels that had I wanted different hubs installed. Here is the big wheel lathe he uses to grab the outside and remachine the center to a larger ID. The machine uses the compound like any other engine lathe with a tool post motor. He has a long end mill in the compound and opens up the center slick as a mink. The machine is well over 100 years old. Ive never seen one. tHE JAWS on the face plate are reversible like any other face plate.

  14. Andy , I just Googled "How to pattern gears in a differential" Check it out !
  15. Andy, You need to get some white lead compond(use can use other things as well) and pattern the gears. Its quite easy. Look on line and see what a correct o pattern looks like when the pinion is adjusted correct , use a bar or some wood to load pressure on the crown gear and then rotate the pinion. The pattern wants to be not too deep in the crown gear or not to far out on the toe of the gear. Ive used plumbers pipe dope for black iron pipe seal before It works ok just to give you a image of how the gears are meshing. Make sure you clean the dope out of the gears . Good luck
