My 1910 Mitchell "parts car" project
mikewest replied to JV Puleo's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
Why not hang it from two wires? -
Take it off and mail it to me , Ill have my lockman cut you one. He is 50 years in the business Mike West

This is exactly why Ive said give it a tow. Pulling it will get the oil where it needs to be to seal it up and boost the compression. I guess he hasnt ever tow started anything.

Id like to buy at least one more tire.. I spoke with Reichwalds widow but it didnt go far. Dale Kemmerer gave me the contact. As of a few months ago she still had the car for sale. I just dont have the contacts in the Rambler world to find another tire or two and one more wheel also. If you are able to reach out to anyone that may be able to helpI would be glad to reward you. Thanks Mike West Livonia NY 585 738 1541

Ed, I hear what you are saying .... but what and when did the old car hobby turn to hiring everything done. My dad had anywhere from a dozen or so cars my entire youth from our 1902 Crest to a 1958 Alpha . We fixed cars like this old RR. We had a garage with a pit, air, torches and a Sears paint gun. Fifty years later Im still fixing cars. Im not restoring them.... I get them in the shop ,clean them up and sort out what they need to get over the road. Ive had 2 - 20hp Rolls , both turned out to be good decent used cars because I think they both had better car that if they were a Chevy or Plymouth. Another point to make is not everyone can afford a Ghost but still want the RR ride to the ice cream shop. I tell a lot of youngsters , get off your phone and your ars, get some basic tools and get started. Its not rocket science.

1933 Franklin Airman 16-B Sedan
mikewest replied to plymouthcranbrook's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
I found this Franklin in PA several years ago, bought it and cleaned it up. The car is a excellent unmolested sedan and quite scarce. The 1933 16B models are only at a handful known. The wood in this car is in remarkable preserved condition. It had the original Stromberg carburetor on it when sold, maybe the seller still has it. If you want a full CCCA sedan, this is a good one! -
I have a set of original wood wheels and rings that measure 31 inches. I havent been able to track down a car with 31 The width appears to be 4 inches. . I need to clean the rim and see what is stamped on it.

Bring it to Livonia NY . Ill get it going and you can drive it home. Guaranteed.

My 1910 Mitchell "parts car" project

Joe if you want to pay a visit we can blast anything you bring up. You need a hitch on your truck and get that trailer regestered. -
The point that bothers me is this is a old restored running driving car when parked. They dont jump time just setting. If it was running fine when parked, has spark now, Id be inclined to think its a fuel problem.... lack of getting any. Ive sqirted oil in the cylinders to seal they up also. If the cylinders are dry , she will suck better with some lube. Ive said all along , give it a tow.

1928 Allis Chalmers Tractor $6,500
mikewest replied to larry's topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
How many do you get?? -
(SHOWN ON THWW RIGHT IN THE PICTURES) These are a nice set of original irons, Not the pot metal crap seen on Screwbay. The finish will polish up with some effort and rouge. They measure 28 inches eye to eye. $200.00 pus shipping Mike West NOTE - The garage I got these from had 1931 and 32 Franklin parts. These could very well be from a Franklin Convertible coupe. A bargain if you need a set! 585 738 1541
