  1. I have a rebuild kit for that transmission slated for my Special. It's tempting to get this car and use it there.
  2. Keith - the rainbow shot reminds me of the classic one with the end of the rainbow being at a beer store.
  3. Fools who don't understand that P=m*v and cut me off cause more anxiety than traffic lights. Towing a Buick in an enclosed hauler gives a perspective and additional respect to what truckers deal with. That reminds me...I need to discuss the above equation and distance to pull back in front after passing a semi with the younger drivers in the house.
  4. You're welcome. It's become a part of the ritual to get all the photos from the cameras onto a DVD or USB stick Saturday afternoon of the meet and get it to Pete at the banquet. Going through the photos always shows me how much I missed. It's another small way to contribute to the BCA. A lot of good memories created this year, including on the way home.
  5. The '53 and '55 get to languish outside at Buick Gardens whilst the fifty-fo's get the new roof over their heads. At least we understand your priorities.
  6. Not a photo but a movie...Iron Man 1:07:31 - a Bulgari watch.
  7. The '31 and '34 Victoria coupes were for sale. Both very tempting. Suzanne is holding out for a '33.
  8. Good to hear of the progress Barney. I hadn't seen you there...your absence was noted. I gave Pete a USB stick with the photos taken by the three cameras we brought down. I know some weren't very good, but hopefully it adds to the choice available to him. Of course if I ever sat at my computer to post here I could possibly add to this thread. Its always interesting to view a thread like this and note what you missed at the show.
  9. Coasters made it home fine. Still tidying things up. Happily we may have figured out some of the noise coming from the back of the pace car on bumps - poorly routed exhaust pipes hitting spring on one side and contacting rear control arms. It's amazing what you see when the car is on a lift.
  10. The '29 should be operable but won't be pretty. When one has a choice if pre-war Buicks, a decision must be made. Rob's name did come up in vain in Allentown, but rumour has it he's pretty busy legislating and such.
  11. I drove the Wildcat out of the garage this morning, washed it, and drove it back into the garage.
  12. No breakdown by series nor model, but there were 4,091 McLaughlin-Buick automobile built in 1934.
  13. For what it is worth, I have a couple folks to talk to who may be the right ones to set up a PWD tour for next year. I've gone through the Wisconsin tourism stuff that I got in Allentown and there are a number of nearby sites that I think would be good for a visit. The main thing is to have someone relatively local who could do some of the trip planning for reasonable roads. A spoke tour could work well if we are able to get out of Brookfield relatively easily. I may just have to register the '41 to have a pre-war Buick (ignoring that the war started in 1939).
  14. Made it home early this afternoon without incident. Picked up the Wildcat and the dogs. Now I need a nap.
  15. Happily, a relatively uneventful day leaving Wisconsin Dells after breakfast and getting to Fargo, ND in decent time. There was some very heavy rain in Wisconsin. Now just a short shot home tomorrow.
  16. June means Canadian children are still in school. That's why it was just Suzanne and I in Springfield last year. That said, you can never please all the people all the time.
  17. I concur Chris. Steel brake line had rusted through on the Reatta which caused the issue. There's apparently one garage in Wisconsin Dells and they were able to make the repair. Life is good. A short trip to Fargo tomorrow and home on Friday.
  18. I will ultimately need to get photos organized, but we did some divide and conquer today. While Teresa and I attended a webinar, Suzanne and the boys headed for the Volo Auto Museum. If it isn't a part of an organized tour next year it would be worth a side trip, so I'm told. According to Google Maps, it's about 1.5 hours from Brookfield avoiding toll roads. After the webinar, Teresa and I headed to visit BCA #346 in Whitewater, WI. 1929 parts were procured to be able to progress on my car. He has a model 55 in Ledo Green, which is the colour mine is supposed to be. We had a great conversation and learned a lot. We went for a ride. After turning around, he put me in the driver's seat and forced me to drive back to his place . It was later than intended when we left. After getting on the road the Reatta diagnostics mentioned low brake fluid. Stopping for fuel shortly thereafter leads me to believe a rear beake hose may need replacing. Now we are in Wisconsin Dells with apparently one mechanic and no GM dealer. This could get interesting.
  19. So many beautiful Buicks. 1931 and 1934 Victoria coupes for sale were tempting. A Reatta convertible showed up in the car corral Saturday. 1996 Riviera and neat 1940(?) convertible sedan were there too. Teresa looked at the Reatta but just took a photo of the for sale sign before the rains drove her and Luke to the swap tent.
  20. And so many youngsters learning about them. It it was great to see so many families at the event this year, more than there have been in a long time.
  21. And Lamar knows he's due to get an empty box of Hamms cans when FrBuick gets back to the Athens region? it it was a fun time. I'll let all y'all know if the coasters survive the ride home.
  22. Um, we sat together with you and the Schramm's at the banquet last year in Springfield. I guess I make that much of an impression
  23. Thanks for the suggestions Bill, but we aren't sticking around here long enough. We we did visit the Chicago branch of Gateway Classic Cars. They've got a couple LeSabre convertibles and a really nice '65 Gran Sport convertible. It turns out the guy we spoke with is a BCA member so I worked on convincing him to bring his work in progress '55 Special to Brookfield next year. Tomorrow, Teresa and I will go to one of our local offices to take in a weekly webinar, then head to Wisconsin to spend a bunch of money on '29 parts on our way to hook back up with Suzanne and the boys in Wisconsin Dells. They are likely to stop at the Volo Auto Museum on the way.
