  1. The samples are from 1932 Factory Catalog cars. They were not from the box. But they fit inside so I store them in it. Ed
  2. I was just cleaning up some of my car junk in my master bedroom closet, and came across this neat little piece of the Custom Body Era. Most people have not seen these leather bound boxes, and I thought I would post a few photos. I have several different ones, both Pierce and Cadillac, but it shows what was available when money was no object. It's from the New York City LeBaron showroom for 1929 and 1930. It held samples of paint, upholstery, and striping choices. There are samples for headliners, seats, and "fake" convertible top fabrics. If anyone else would like to share their CCCA ERA dealer or showroom goodies, PLEASE DO! There was an amazing amount of stuff in the dealerships. Enjoy, Ed
  3. And to you also ....... see you soon. Ed
  4. A good friend just pulled one out of storage of 30 years, It's a two door sedan, I think thay call it a Victoria. The car is all there with a bunch of extras like engine, rear end, and a bunch of other stuff. It's a 31 if my memory serves me. The owner has brass and Classic cars and MAY be looking to sell it. It was going to be his last restoration to do during his retirment, but I think he now just wants to find one finished so he can enjoy it right away. If intrested PM me and I'll send you his email. The car is located in the Boston area. Ed
  5. That's my entire point. For what I was quoted for scanning and other fees, it was MUCH less expensive to go with lost wax casting. My understanding is the computer and scanner are not too expensive. The printers can run 90 to 200 K as I have been told but did not confirm. Then labor / cad-cam time and it just gets too expensive. Keep us up to date, Ed
  6. I would have a use for it about 10 times a year. Everyone we contacted was calling themselves rapid prototyping, with all sorts of engineers, and pricing us out to the market. If we could pay 75 to 125 per hour for the computer time, I think it would work out ok. Keep me posted. Ed
  7. Very cool...... I have never seen that engine before....thanks for posting. Ed
  8. Adam, in case you didn't know it, the color of your Loco is ENVEY GREEN. It's a great car. Enjoy it! ED
  9. Olds Limited looks right. I would say 1912. Car photo was taken in 14 or 15 in front of the owners home in Birmingham NY. Chauffeur is a man named Santos (Last) and he was head of maintenance of the mill that the car owner had. The lady in the front seat was the owners wife, who died a few days later after this photo was taken. The photo was a family "prized possession" as it was the last photo taken of her. The Chauffeurs' grandson is a car mechanic in my home town today, and the photo has been hanging on the wall of his shop for 25 years. Ed

  11. Any one know the make, series, ect? Thanks Ed.
  12. Also need horse power, CID, wheel base, tire size, and condition will also be needed to get a ballpark of value. Ed
  13. Taken in upstate New York. Car looks like 1912 to me but I am not sure. Anyone know the make and series? Thanks, Ed
  14. I agree with Carlisle1926 that it is NOT a transaxle car. It looks to me that it had a torque tube. I think mid priced and assembled car. The front end looks like it's light compared to the rear. 120 inch wheel base puts it in the Cadillac price range. Ed
  15. It's interesting that several people I have made contact with on this site about diffrent interesting posts they have made, turn out to also own a 13 or 14 Caddy like I do. What can be the odds of that? Just yesterday I listed a horn for sale in the HCCA section, the buyer had a 13 Caddy and his parents a 14. Very strange, Ed
  16. It looks to me the chassis is a high end of the middle price range scale. It doesn't look like Loco, Peerless, or Packard too me. Much more like Cadillac or National price range. Still no listing as to wheel base? There is a new HCCA era book coming out, By fellow AACA member Robert Dluhy, with tech listings on 4100 cars from 1906 to 1914. While the book won't be published till early next year, if we get an accurate wheel base we can compare it to the charts in the new book. My guess is a high end assembled car, low production, and maybe no known examples still with us. Maybe the photos should be posted in the national mag as many members do not use the on line site. Ed
  17. Sold! In just six hours after posting...... Thanks, Ed
  18. Thanks for the kind words gentlemen, Marty I missed you at the HCCA lunch on Friday at the fall meet. Where you there? Rf
  19. Thanks for the kind words gentelmen, Marty....I missed you at the HCCA tent Friday. Were you there? Ed
  20. It's hard to believe I've been a member on this site for 10 years as of today. Time has sure gone by fast. I have met and made a bunch of good car friends here on this site, all at no cost or obligation. Just a short THANK YOU to all who run the AACA, The Web site moderators, and all the volunteers at the Hershey Fall Meet. My first fall meet was 1971 when I was only 5 years old, with my grandfather and father, I have only missed a few years since then. The hobby has been a GREAT family adventure. Grandpa and dad are gone now....... but the new generations of the family are also coming on board. My best wishes to all...... and in my fathers words now long gone and missed ......... HAPPY MOTERING. Ed

  24. Sorry, EDL stands for Enclosed Drive Limo, as for how many were built, 25 club sedans, and 10 EDL's. The photo above has me sitting on the right, and the gentelmen on the left is a well known Pierce collector with three Brunn Town Cars! I stopped by his house on the way home with my new prize to get some feedback, and see the look on his face when I backed it out of my trailer. After 4 tires, oil change and a new battery I drove the car about 5 thousand miles in the 65 year old plugs, condensors, wires, ect. It's still running strong. Every light and even the wipers worked fine. Only the gas guage was not working. Ed
