Most Stutz parts are not drop in, but are made for each application. Are you replacing the factory rods? They have a very high failure rate and make big holes in the blocks. Bearings for the crank are babbit and must be done by someone who knows their stuff. Valves use adjustible buckets which thread on the valves, I have seen lots of poorly done valves. Just the head has 20 freeze plugs in it. Timing chain upgrades should also be done. I would recommend you get in touch with someone who knows what they are doing. Hi West, I thought it was time to get another picture thread going, so I figured the best photo would win. Car, content, location, and other factors that make the photo the over all best posting will win. To be fair, I'll let you pick the top three, then I will choose the winner from them. Might make a good story for you to cover. I'll kick in for lunch for you also. We also could use two cars to compare an eight and twelve Pierce. I thought the chance to take a car for a spin would help give a push for people to post. I hope to see a lot of interesting photos. Ed

OK, the Packard and Mercedes threads were great, now lets try for the real rare stuff, must be Pre War, CCCA Classic, The winner gets to drive my Pierce Arrow to a local lunch spot from my garage. You must provide your own transportation to my garage in Springfield, Mass. 30 days till the contest will close. No time limit to collect on the drive to lunch. I'll even buy lunch! If you don't get to the east coast often, you can ride (and drive) for a day at the Pierce Arrow national meet, as they move around the country quite a bit. Here we go, good luck, Ed.

Only a LaSalle lid will fit. The most difficult year to find body parts for. It would be almost impossible to find one, it's gonna be a case of making it, maybe you can get photos and measurments from another car. Good luck, Ed

Martin's car is up and running strong. I spent a few hours with him the other day and had a chance to drive his car. It's a great Caddy, and I'm sure we will see lots of it this year. Post a few photos Martin! Ed

Dave it just occurred to me that maybe you were hit by one of those "man made sink holes", You know the ones, they have four wheels, take up all your time and money, leave you homeless and broke, and you still don't have a car that runs or drives! Ed

Wow, you would think that something like this is a once in a lifetime event. The same thing happened to me this morning, but the only thing that was lost in the sink hole is the motor I sold you last week. I bet the odds of that happening was the same as winning the 640 million dollar jackpot. It's a shame you "wasted" all that luck on sink holes. Anyway, I was able to turn the money around you sent me a few days ago, and now I'm going to take my new Oldsmobile (Limited) for a ride. Better luck next time! Ed

Sorry I lost track of this thread. John, thanks for the lead as we sold the entire pile of parts to Ray, he was great to deal with, and the parts will get to people who need them. I sold the parts less than two weeks after posting. Sorry I did not update then. I am still looking for a 34 Lincoln turn key sedan or Limo. Ed

Very nice car in it's "garage find" condition. Last run in the 70's and was disassembled and the restoration stalled. We reassembled it and now are offering it for sale. 99.5 percent complete. Perfect wood and very nice sheet metal. All the hard to find part are there. Has a good carb and manifold. All the splash pans are on the car, and the dash and gauges are very nice. Factory upholstery is still in the car and is decent condition; but will be needed to be replaced. Roof never leaked. Headliner torn. Motor spins over but does not run. Call for more information. Very nice automobile. So many people look past the closed cars. I prefer my closed cars to the open ones I own. Much better fit and finish, and workmanship is just wonderful. Enjoy the car......DRIVE IT. Good luck, Ed

Dave is a great guy. I have been bumping into him for years at the Pierce meet. He does most of his own work, and DRIVES his cars to the meet. He always has a smile and a story to share. I was a guest at his home not too long ago, spending an afternoon and evening kicking tires and looking through his collection. My favorite part was the free test drive he offers to ALL his friends and visitors! He insisted I drive his cars like I stole it! :eek: What a great guy!

Check with the Lincoln guys, if I remember correctly they built one or two on the Lincoln platform. Ed
