  1. Righto... The owner gave me his #... I'll see it next Saturday (he's close to work)...I was close to buying a '63 Electra 225 convertible not to long ago. Is the Wildcat a similar body style? (except it's a 2 dr hardtop). Fora couple years there, the large Buicks went through some fairly major styling changes on a yearly basis. I like that!! Steve
  2. Convertible? 2dr, 4dr? Maybe they only came one way...I'm guessing they are a spin off of the Invicta in '62? Let me know, Thanks...Steve in Mass.
  3. I always imagine the center part that gets glued to the dent leaving a circle where the paint used to be...
  4. I always thought they were "thumb-screws" Steve
  5. Looks like a real cherry, Calvin! Very nice. I'd suggest trying this companys products before going through the complexities of vinyl top replacement...especially since yours is original and merely faded. I've used this stuff with excellent results, bringing mu top to like new condition. It's a 2 part system...a cleaner and conditioner...it's called "Convertible Top Cleaner" I believe, but is used on all vinyl tops.Don't get the fabric cleaner...The site below describes the product better than i...I can only highly recommend it.. Steve http://www.303products.com/main.php?infopage=kits
  6. Here's a good one...the price is right though ($99) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...p;category=6304
  7. What kind of shpow is it? All classes? How big of a crowd? Asking as it's not all that far from me... Thanks, Steve
  8. Dave@Moon To compare an SUV driver to a pedophile priest! You are a goddamn fool. YOU can go about and change your silly ways in the name of terrorism. I like the present US stance on oil. I like the US stance on terrorism. I LIKE that we're going to Iraq and kick the hell out of them. AGAIN. This time, let's TAKE OVER the oil field. You're right about one thing only, Dave "@Moon" (yes you are), things HAVE changed since 911.To me, it means "No More Mr Nice Guy". Screw the UN,Kyoto,France, and all your other favorites. We DO have the right to do as we deem fit. It's called the "Persuit of Happiness". Yeah, I guess I'll give you credit there, cannibals not included. Very important point you made. Here's some interesting reading for you: www.usconstitution.net Try it out sometime, you're in for quite an education. By the way, don't ever think that because you have 1700 plus posts, you know what your talking about. Also, your little ID page says you're a "housewife"...lets get the facts straght... As for the others that think the SUV's are EVIL...what's next? My recreational boat?
  9. What about a Honda CRV that gets 24 MPG? Isn't that an SUV? SUV's Supporting Terrorism!!What about the Grand Marquis Owners! So many choices, who to pick on and finger point and try to blame! TYPICAL liberal, socialist mentality. Guess what...that miniscule persentage of money I am forced to give through my Gov't may be an miniscule amount of our Countries gross, but it's still MORE , BY FAR, than anybody else gives. And even if it weren't, that would be all the better as far as I'm concerned.I'm not busting my ass working nights so I can chip in to make some foreign country a better place to live. If you like to, be my friggin' guest. Stuff your whole paycheck in an envelope and send it off to Istanbul. As far as your comment about no support for mid east countries, I beg to differ...how about ISRAEL? Or don't they count 'cause to you and others with a "Blame America First" mentality, they're the bad guys, too?...You don't want to use gas, then DON"T! Ride a friggin' bike, for all I care. The solution is not to stop using gas, the solution is to KILL THE TERRORISTS and KILL THEIR FAMILIES. Sorry to remind your bleeding heart, but as you know, this is in it's advanced stages as I type. Some types of people think if we appease the terrorists...mass transit, high energy taxes tacked onto our fuels, send 747's full of food and money, maybe we'll not be the focus of terrorisms attention. Other peple, like myself, believe we have an inate human right to live as we deem fit, and that The President of the United States is OBLIGED to protect that Right. Gas guzzlers and all.
  10. Are you telling me that people put aftermarket performance type wheels on their cars and then just leave the OEM wheels at the dealer to be put in the dumpster? It's not like the Sales Manager gives them a discount for leaving the wheels...I find it hard to believe that nobody has the set THAT THEY PAID FOR loaded up into the trunk as they leave. People with money aren't stupid. Plus, some of the wheel sets I see up for auction are OPTIONAL WHEELS... are you telling me that people not only PAY for the wheels, but buy the increased cost OPTION wheel, only to have it discarded at the dealer?? Something ain't right...
  11. The best... http://www.intercitylines.com/ Steve
  12. Gene, I have a '65 401. Would like an original alternator (55 amp #1100709) with double pulley for A/C and Starter Motor (1107313) w/ Solenoid, both in working condition to use as backups. You can email me price w/ shipping and your address for payment at the below email address (or you can leave it here if you prefer, of course). Just for fun, do you have the 2x4 distributor (1111058)? Thanks, STev gun-G@excite.com
  13. "Centieme"...Perhaps it's named after the Mexican town where it will be built, along side it's sister, the Rendezvous? Steve
  14. Dual Quad Carb #'s 1964 Primary...... (Rear) 3646S Carter AFB for Automatic Trans ....................3634S Carter AFB 4 Speed Secondary(Frt).................. 3645S Carter AFB (both Trans) 1965 Primary...... 3925S Carter AFB for Auto .....................3924S Carter AFB 4 Speed Secondary ...................... 3645S (same as 1964) This type setup (progressive linkage) is by far the best for street use in multiple carb setups. At idle and low throttle, primaries in rear carb are in use, much as a single 2bbl. At approx half throttle, primaries of secondary carb kick in. Secondaries of both kick in simultateously at WOT.Nothing beats the sound of 2 four barrels opening up in a downshifting Full-Size Buick. Nothing Mechanical, Anyway! This (Part# info) from my own experience and can be verified in Buick Service Manuals. Will have to tell NHRA to get their shite together. 57Buick, sorry if I made you nervous...check my earlier post...I typed up a chart so you can figure the CFM of a Carter AFB for you...just measure the primary and secondary bores! Steve
  15. Joe, I do believe you are right, that the 364 is best off with it's own intake. Sounds like he already has a dual quad intake and wants carbs. My sentiment is the smaller the better. I know the 425 2x4's are a smaller (575 CFM) size. If the original poster is interested here are the specs for the AFB Series Carbs: CFM Venturi Diameter Bore Diameter primary secondary primary secondary -------------------------------------------------------- 400 1 1/8 1 1/4 1 7/16 1 7/16 500 1 3/16 1 1/4 1 7/16 1 11/16 575 1 1/4 1 9/16 1 9/16 1 11/16 625 1 3/16 1 9/16 1 7/16 1 11/16 750 1 7/16 1 9/16 1 11/16 1 11/16 The 400's would be best for the 364...I offer mine because they are a BUICK application, this may be of great value if the throttle linkage can be readily adapted to his car. I've attached a photo of an identical running setup(Click "ATTACHMENT" above)Steve
  16. I have the 2 Carter AFB four barrels for a '65 SuperWildcat 425 nailhead (3925S and 3646S). They need rebuild but are all there...carb linkage, choke etc...I could not guess what mods would be needed for your application. The set is $645 + shipping.
  17. How am i supposed to email you??Anon@www.amonymous.com?
  18. It has to do with a previous owner customizing your vehicle. hopefully, no holes were drilled. Looks like a nice solid Buick, good luck with it! Steve
  19. Am interested in your 63-5 items, can email me by clicking on my name to the left...Tnks
  20. The screws are to adjust current draw. High and low note both should be betwwen 4.5 and 5.5 amperes @ 12.0 Volts.(These are the specs for my '65, take your chances applying them to your model)Increasing draw will increase volume...up to a point, excessive current will make them sputter, and stick.. On your horns, where they are old and been sitting, a couple good medium taps of a hammer and beyond that some WD40 and a little "shakin'" may be in order, especially where they're both not working. Have Fun! Steve
  21. I know that a condensor with too great of capacity will cause point material to move(pit) from the movable to the stationary side of the point set, and vice-versa. But how many condensors and pitted points do you go through before you find the "right" set? Plus, as the block wears down dwell must be reset. No wonder so many people are thinking about Pertronics and HEI. To each his own, I guess. I like the points setup, enjoy tuneups, etc. Matter of fact, I might just go out and get a handful of condensors to try Joes strategy out. Not so much to save the cash, but similar to how many golf rounds I can play with a single ball. A little game/conquest in itself! Steve
  22. I moved a car in an enclosed trailer from Phili to Boston last year.., a lot of the advertisement in hemmings were retirees, which is fine, but they stop at their house for the night etc, used open trailers.which I didn't like. 4 or 5 were contacted, and gave prices of between $600 and $850, which I thought was high. These were the local "little guys". Finally called www.intercitylines.com . This was during the week of the Barrett-Jackson Auctions (my understanding is they are a preferred carrier of the auction), so, I don't know if that made it cheaper or more expensive, but the price was $450! Insured for $1,000,000, cars were in enclosed trailer AND individually covered. Sometimes it pays to go with the "Big guys"! Very professional, friendly, the driver was a gentleman, and took obvious care of each vehicle. Was not rushed to get to the next stop. the only thing you may not like is that it was not a direct nonstop trip from A to B (you being but more of a circuit. They call 24hrs before arrival, in my case they called in the morning about 3 days after pickup... they would be close by and could drop it off in an hour if I would be available to sign off. Your car is well documented before they take it, scratches buff marks, dings etc, and as I said the cars are covered so if anybody drips over you, you are protected. I know this produces some anxiety waiting for the car you paid for, but I would recommend this company highly. Good luck, Steve
  23. Joe, I know you are one sharp Buick guy, but KeRipes, 45,000 miles for a set of points??? You must of filed them, or something, in that time period? I take a low maintenance approach, but when it gets to starting a bit hard I change the points (Blue Streak) and that seems to be what it needed. That takes place around every year and a half (3000 miles a year)! I've gone through points enough that I always keep a spare set/condensor/screwdriver in the glove box. I'll have to try putting cam lube on there more often...thanks for the tip! Steve
  24. So you'll be renting a 2003 Buick Park Ave Ultra? Not bad!
  25. SkyKing, what are your plans for the drive...solo or with others...I'm in Mass and would consider the trip as part of a caravan...if so, send me a contact# or details! Steve
