  1. Find me a 1960s car more cool for 10k. And yes, the advertisement is horrible and it seems to have no chassis. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124717928541 You are looking at a beautiful 1962 Studebaker GT Grand Turismo Coupe! This is a fun 4 speed car with a 289, nice black paint and red interior..Very stylish and not many of these left. The undercarriage is rough and will need some attention! I feel that my price of $10,500 is very realistic for a classic car like this one with the potential that this vehicle has. We offer a 90 day lay away on many of our vehicles. Just break the cost of the vehicle into 4 equal payments 30 days apart, and then you can take possession of the vehicle. I might consider a possible trade, what do you have? What are you looking for? 2. Back to the 1950s car today. 60 degrees, zero humidity and bright blue skies. My heart is with the big Classics but driving around something from the 50s is definitely more relaxing. I've always wanted a 53 Skylark.
  3. We have a bunch of Eldo fans on here and 68 is the best year. This is a 68 concept car. Wonder if it is still around?
  4. I was driving down the Mass Pike the other day on my way to Logan and a stock Model A passed on the other side. I've seen everything now. I've been on 495 in a 180 Packard, Cord 812 SC, and a Auburn 851 SC. Not really a problem, but those cars will cruise at 65 mph happily.
  5. I think any car with trippes should be discounted 25%.
  6. Yes and no. People often HAVE to buy a house even though renting one for 2 or 3 years sometimes makes more financial sense unless you are staying for the long haul. If you are going to only keep the car for 2 or 3 years and then get a new one then it doesn't really make any difference. Buying or leasing the costs are measured in time & miles. When you are leasing, you are paying for the most expensive time & miles - the first couple of years.
  7. Have you looked at used car prices lately? That 2018 Laramie 2500 Diesel I should have bought is now the same price but with 35k miles on it.
  8. Most high end new cars are: 1. Leased. 2. Owned by a business of some sort 3. Both of the above. No data other than empirical.
  9. Somebody who has followed the T-Bird market for the last 40 years explain this to me? It actually doesn't look that bad, but did the market in the 80s really support a reproduction? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Ford-Thunderbird-/254973054535 Hi, I bought this car hoping to make a Gasser or Street Rod but currently have too many projects and not enough time. This is a Shay reproduction 55 T-Bird. Only 200 were built in the mid 80's. Fiberglass body with 2 tops. Custom chassis was made for this body. The engine is a Ford 351 Windsor with Roush cylinder heads, roller rocker arms, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb and open headers, no exhaust. C6 auto trans. Engine will run with a battery hooked up but the cooling system needs to be addressed. I have 2 wiring harnesses, P/S pump, and a rear back glass. I also have a new brake booster, master cylinder and brake pedal assembly. Car does have disc brakes in the front with a Mustang II front suspension. Current seats are not mounted. Factory Ford dash with tilt wheel. . Excellent straight body with very nice paint, has some minor paint chips. Car is ready for you to take to the next level. Does not run or drive at this time, but would not take much to get it on the road again. Clear title with matching vin tag. States 1955 Ford convertible. Call or text with any questions, leave message if no answer. Thanks. 630 664 1161
  10. My guess is a factory phaeton that was updated in the late 40s with a windshield, skirts, and carson top. I'm thinking post war based on the rear window treatment.
  11. He also installed the sun roof in some Cord 810/812s. You should post this in the for sale section. I would strongly suggest some pictures. It will save you time in the long run.
  12. Matt is correct. If you are charging from a 10/20 amp wall outlet. You better have a lot of time on your hands.
  13. You can distinguish an 831 from an 835 by the hoods. The 835 has vent doors.
  14. Here is a picture of a 835 Victoria that was original delivered new to Sweden. Maybe your car?
  15. I think if you create an account you will be able to get in. The club thinks there were around 2k sedans built, 650, Victoria's, 450 coupes, and 50 convertible coupes. These numbers are approximate but close to what the consensus is these days based on production chassis numbers.
  16. This one is nice! The blackwalls look much more appropriate for the era. Priced at 35k. I know a well sorted 29 sedan with the eight that has been for sale for long time for similar money. This is nicer cosmetically, has the 2 door sedan body but is the six. 1928 Pierce Arrow Club Brougham is and older restoration that shows well. This included body, paint and interior restoration. The drive train also has been rebuilt, the engine by a Pierce Arrow specialist. The rear axel has been upgraded with high speed gears and all new bearings and brakes. The steering box has been gone through too along with a new exhaust system. This car drives and stops well. I do have some spare parts that are for sale too.
  17. It needed a very expensive new radiator.
  18. If you keep making it home then you shouldn't get that mad. But I know what it is like to have "temp gauge eyes". I was testing my car on 90 degree days, but still something was wrong. The evporust did a good enough job so that as long as you were moving 30 mph or more you were fine. But if the light changed red...
