  1. Yes, rain gutters to push water toward the front door jamb, and not down the side of the door panel.
  2. My thought is that it was used in the stamping process to properly position the fender in the jig.
  3. Thank you! CARS has it in small sheets.
  4. One is Lance's, and the other is top secret....not really. But the deal is nearly done. Neither are convertibles, so stop drooling!🤣
  5. The intake plug is a core plug that is in the bottom of the intake, and it covers the exhaust crossover passage. They have a tendency to rust out and cause a massive exhaust leak. Only way to fix is to remove intake and replace core plug. Matt Martin has replacements.
  6. Very nice! It's in great shape! I hear a small exhaust leak in the engine compartment segment. Sounds like the dreaded intake plug leak.
  7. Hey Steve, did you get my reply to your email last night? I have a 58 Limited coming to the house soon...actually two. It will be a couple weeks, though. Until then, the only guy I know that has one on hand is Lance.
  8. I have a client/friend who calls his 1992 Toronado a classic car. So there's that 😀 ...I prefer the term "vintage," "antique," or old. LOL ...because the term Classic can be taken so many different directions.
  9. It currently has a Rochester, which could be correct…but the one on the car has a slightly different fuel inlet that makes the air cleaner sit on top of it. I suppose an AFB would be fine as long as it was the correct number. I’ll have to look in the chassis manual for that.
  10. "never restored" ....but it's had upholstery work done, and the lower sections of the car have been (loooooong ago) rust repaired. Never restored = survivor (to me).
  11. Also look at the spades on the fuse panel where the flasher plugs in and make sure they are not corroded or dirty.
  12. 57 and 58 did have the rebuildable style, but the ones that are sold in stores and online now are crimp. My trouble with these, is that they don't slip into the hole without loosening the engine mount and jacking it up on the passenger side. Otherwise they work just fine. Or you can have your old pump rebuilt. Or you can buy Craig's NOS one. As far as the arm being bent like that, I can't be sure. Pull the old one and compare.
  13. There is one about an hour from here. Skyview Drive-in, Belleville IL. They have several car club events every year and they draw a big crowd.
  14. Looking for a factory carb for a 62 Skylark with the 215 4bbl. The one on my client's car is the wrong year and fuel inlet housing hits the air cleaner.
  15. Getting close to moving back home!
  16. Try to knock off one thing at a time and it will be less overwhelming. Every car I buy has a massive laundry list of crap that needs tending. Most of the stuff on those lists are things that the seller did not disclose, or didn't think they warranted disclosure. Yours is a nice car...just gotta work out the bugs. I am working a deal on a 58 Limited right now, and I will guarantee that it has the same massive list of issues that I hadn't planned on....on top of the stuff I know about. Older owner that had the car for 30+ years and never lifted a finger to fix it. Just drove it. "Yes, I drive it all the time! Been that way the whole time I've owned it!" Uh huh...
  17. Why am I thinking that there is a specific manual (other than the body manual) that goes with the scissor top? EDIT: because there is: https://www.ebay.com/itm/190581475480
  18. Yeah. I think I remember seeing pics of this underneath when the previous owner had it. Sure it tempting for a coupe. Bummer they missed the boat so bad on the door panels.
