  2. Indented letters should be relatively easy. I did a similar color fill with a fine paint pen and then wiped it off with a tissue as soon as I was done with an area before the paint could dry. I folded thee tissue so I was wiping with a flat piece. It looked over filled at first but dried looking good. I have problems with raised letters, I usually bribe a friend with a steadier hand when I need that done.
  3. Good to hear it is on the way. Was thinking about that a week or so ago wondering when it would be sent out.

  5. Size your car hauler properly, or you will not be able to get the door open.
  6. From Wikipedia: Glycerol is generally obtained from plant and animal sources where it occurs in triglycerides, esters of glycerol with long-chain carboxylic acids . The hydrolysis, saponification, or transesterification of these triglycerides produces glycerol as well as the fatty acid derivative. It can be bought in drug stores but large containers are available on Amazon. Lately it has been mixed with alcohol to make hand sanitizer. I found out about it from a friend that has actually restored unobtainable tires for display/very slow driving. One was so hard he thought it might break if he dropped it. I have used it on old tractor tires to seal/fuse age cracks by just rubbing generous amounts on the cracks. The fellow that restored tires soaked them in glycerin in a trough large enough to soak about a 1/4 of the circumference at a time. He told me you have to be very careful if you soak rubber in it. It will melt the rubber if you leave it to long all you have left is goo.
  7. My Dad bought a 66 Falcon with 289 new and always changed the oil every 2000 miles because at 2000 miles it was down a quart and it was use a quart every 500 miles after that so he figured he might as well change it. I got it from him at a bit over 100K miles and it was still doing the same oil usage as when it was new. The there was a fellow I knew in High School that drove some old English sedan that really burned oil. It used a couple of quarts between fill ups and he would buy used motor oil from the local garage hangout for, if I remember right, 25 cents a gallon he brought his own container.
  8. I have some door seals I bought back in the late 70s planning to use them in a year or two and ran across them last year still in the box. Opened it not expecting much and they still looked and felt brand new. On some 70 year old rubber on my 1950 Ford F1, I wipe them down with generous amounts of glycerin every year or so and it doesn't make them look new but keeps them flexible.
  9. I tow dollied a Willys FC170 about 400 miles one time out of necessity, because my U-Haul reserved and paid for trailer was not were it was supposed to be. The U-Haul dealer could not be inconvenienced to have one brought in from another dealer and none were available in the area by then. Had to fight them for a refund. My first problem was the over the wheel straps were not long enough for the tires on the FC. I wrapped them around the axel and started out. I had to tighten the straps every 10 miles or so for the first hundred miles till all the stretch was out. Then I didn't feel safe at over about 45 mph. It was a long trip. I have never used a dolly since and have never rented anything from U-Haul again. I would say if you have to, use over the wheel straps and plan on a slower trip.
  10. I have crossed the Mason Dixon line many times over the year, there are signs, but I looked it up to be sure I wasn't miss remembering, but as I thought it serves as the demarcation line between four U.S. states, forming part of the borders of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia and has since the 1760s. Not sure what the line is trimacar is referring too.
  11. Hope all you guys in the NE have your snowplows ready.
