  1. Over the years Barney has helped countless folks with his dedication to the Reattas. He was one of the first recipients of the Peterson award and has spent hours with the Reatta data base among other things. Besides the antennas, which he loses money on he has a few repo parts and new parts that he sells for in most cases less than his cost. I guess volume keeps him in business.
  2. I purposely didn't tell them I was from MN because if I had, they would have charged me $ 630
  3. I have had the tonneau clips reproduced on a 3D printer and will be available next Tuesday, when I get back home. I am thinking about $ 40 each. I will post in the buy/sell forum when I return. I will also have more pictures and info. Jim
  4. I am pretty sure I have a nice one and at a reasonable price. \

    Remotes

If your Cadillac remote is exactly the same as the Reatta/Buick then simply pop the little round Buick logo out of a bad one and the same on of the Cadillac one and glue the Buick one into the Cadillac remote. I just did this about two weeks ago. I had a remote I had taken apart so I used a lot of heat on the inside to loosen the glue behind the buick logo. When I went to pry it out I found it is not simply a light aluminum disc but a pretty heavy one. I then went to the Cadillac remote and simply, a small knife blade, pried out the Cadillac logo and glued in the Buick,
  6. Steve is correct they did use two different connectors but if you have the wrong connectors simply cut off the wrong ones and splice the wires.
  7. I think I do have some burgundy '90-91 mats but you are right. I am leaving early Wednesday morning for the BCA meet. Send me an email and when I get home I will check. Jim

    power antenna

That is the antenna lead and is a coax wire with a braid over it. You do just hold both parts and pull it apart, sometimes giving a slight twist, but you do have to be careful you do not pull the black wire out of either of the connectors. Hold onto the metal pieces.
  9. Dan, Please bump this post again a week or so before the show. I would like to be there, maybe with my Select 60 or my '40 Olds Coupe or my '63 Corvette or my GTO or ------ Jim
  10. David, If the side window weather stripping is still on the top that is very hard to find if not almost impossible to find. Don't sell it to me as I would resell it but sell it to someone who needs it for their personal Reatta. Reattaron as an example would be someone who would want it for his personal use. I have an extra set I am saving for my personal future use but I do get folks quite often looking for this weather stripping. Jim

    TCC Solenoid

Years ago when I was doing "repairables" I did a really nice '89 Skylark that had been under fresh water. I drained all the fluids a couple of times and replaced all the electronics in the car and replaced all the wiring from a junk yard car. I drove the car myself for a month or two to make sure everything was good and one day I came up to a stop sign at the bottom of a freeway ramp and the car quit. The TCC had locked up the torque converter and killed the engine. Fortunately when restarting the car, the solenoid released. Happened a second time and I then replace the TCC. Sold the car to my neighbor and he drove it trouble free for several years.
  12. Glad to know my picture is out there as the person who buys low AND sells low. I was in sort of a hurry that day and the engine being in the trunk was also the reason I did not get the red reflectors.
  13. Ronnie, I have been having conversations with a fellow from NJ about his brakes. It turns out he needs a pump and an accumulator. He is getting the pump from me and in our first conversation I recommended you for the accumulator. Yesterday morning he called back to say he was sending a check for the pump and mentioned he had found three places to get the accumulator but the one that was the lowest was yours. I explained that even if yours had been a few dollars higher he should get it from you because of all the help you have been to Reatta owners over the years. He has already ordered through you or will be today. Keep up the good work.
  14. Dave, You keep telling me you don't sell parts. If you want another one, the one at Wally's is good. I was going to take it but I didn't have a short torx screw driver to get the top and bottom screws out that hold the glove box in so the shock is still there. Yesterday when I was cleaning out my tool box after my trip last week to Wally's I added the small Torx. I did take the latch and that has already been shipped to someone who needed it. Jim
  15. John, I sent you an email. Jim

We were on a three day tour with the local AACA chapter. I drove my '39 Buick coupe. Each day we toured local collectors and I have never seen so many Fords. One fellow had about 140 cars and over 100 of them were 1957 Fords. Most of the other places also had Fords. One place we stopped at the owner had a Stanley Steamer and he gave me a ride. One place had about 50 AMXs and Chryslers products. Larry's collection was a treat for a GM guy like me. In one of his buildings he had one '64 Ford convertible surrounded by about 30 GM cars and one Metropolitan convertible. Later that night Linda and I were at the same table with Larry and his wife for dinner and we had some nice conversations. When I mentioned all the Fords we saw and that I didn't used to like to see the Fords win in Nascar but now do, because anything that beats a Toyota is good. Larry agreed. Paul Menard of Nascar is Larry's nephew.
  17. Odd thing on the gauge on my winter driver. When i got the car the gauge was all the way down and drove it that way for a month or so. In the process of testing the gauge unit I sent to rogold99 I used my car as the test car and found I had a broken wire at the connector. I fixed the wire and then for the last 5 months the gauge always read full. I quit driving the car last week and am either going to part it out or sell it as a complete car for $ 1200. During the five months the gauge read full, I simply recorded the mileage and filled up at about 250 miles. About 3 weeks ago the gauge started working correctly on it's own and now works. Guessing there was corrosion in the gauge unit and it finally came clean and now works. '90 White with a burgundy interior.
  18. Daniel, I have the reflectors for $ 50 per side or $ 90 for a pair. Jim

As a matter of fact we just came from Larry Menards home with his car collection. Larry along with his brother John own Menards and sponsor Paul Menard in Nascar. Will be home tomorrow night, and Nic, I will give you a call Monday or Tuesday. I did receive your email last May 21 and the one today asking if I received any emails.

    brake pump

    I have tested good working used pump/motors not for $ 250 but $ 75
  21. Only the early '88s had the suede seats. The late '88s and all the '89s did not. '88-89 had the darker gray and the '90-91s had the lighter gray. There were two types of seats. The regular seats and the 16 way seats. The 16 way had a three switch pod mounted on the side of the drivers seat. I have a nice passenger side regular suede seat and have nice both drivers side and passenger side regular seats without the suede in the '88-89 gray. The regular seats had two different hinges for the back and as a result there was only a hinge cover on the outer side of the seat so if a person put a passenger side seat on the drivers side there would be an exposed hinge bolt. It is possible the covers from either the bottom or the back could be removed from the frames and put on the opposite side but am not sure it that would work. I also have some '88-89 darker gray 16 way seats. If I can help please include your zip code when emailing.
  22. Since it was a month ago, I would call them to see if they still have it. Sometimes these cars only last about a week and other times up to two months. About a month ago I stopped at a U Pull It in Indy and they had just got in a Reatta a few days before I got there. I got there about quitting time and got a few parts. When I came back through Indy one week later, hoping to get more parts, the car had already been crushed.
  23. I received an email looking for some Reatta parts from the fellow who makes the reproduction sill plates for me and that reminded me I should list them here for those folks who do not know they are available. These are exact reproductions of the inserts and I sell them for $ 25 per pair and that include shipping.
  24. Here are the resistor values 1 402 2 523 3 681 4 887 5 1130 6 1470 7 1870 8 2370 9 3010 10 3740 11 4750 12 6040 13 7500 14 9530 15 11800 I have a new uncut # 9 3010 I would give to anyone who needs/wants it. If you do try each resistor there is a five minute wait time between failed tries.
  25. Stanley, All of the Toronado Trofeos used the color VIC. It is not interchangeable with the Reatta CRTs. I will send you an email about the radio/CD players but I am stumped at this point. Jim
