  1. Do NOT turn the hex nut near the firewall. It will start to turn and then get harder. The reason it gets harder is the underside of that nut is attached to some swinging arms and you will break off those arms. To remove that nut and the parts on the underside you have to have the pedal rod pushed in.
  2. Glad to help. I just wish all the other folks were aware that parts are available from multiple sources and Pick N Pulls are a great source of low cost parts. Another good source is car-part.com
  3. I always get a laugh when a person wins money at the casino and then continues gambling with that money saying they are playing with the casino's money.
  4. Ronnie, Looks good. I have 10 or 12 sensors, front and rears, and will retest all of them to get a better range of change and let you know it the 10-20 is right or should be adjusted. Jim
  5. The front sensors are the same for both right and left. The best way to check them is both by measuring the resistance and then with your ohmmeter attached to the connector end, using a screw driver or other metal object pass the screw driver end over and near the sensor end without touching it and the ohmmeter should change resistance by about 15-20 ohms. ( the 15-20 ohms is a memory guess but you will see a noticeable change.) I have one that is only changing about 5 ohms so I don't think I will send that one out if someone needs one as I am not positive it is good. I know a good one should change more than that.
  6. I have IPCs and marginal accumulators. Jim
  7. I have all the keys but would need to know the color. If you do remove one somehow and send it to me I could figure out which key you need.
  8. I have one or two I can be reached at reattas60@gmail.com but it didn't get that
  9. You've been asking when I will be coming South and East again, and I will finally headed that way, leaving Sunday afternoon. I be driving between MN and heading to SC next week and ready to help you with your Reatta. I will then be heading north to Allentown PA and the AACA Hershey Fall Meet. Leaving there and traveling back home through OH, IN and IL. I have a lot of parts in stock that would normally be very expensive to ship that I can bring along and hand deliver. Windshields Glass, door panels, seats and body parts. Email me for your needs at reattas60@gmail.com for parts at very reasonable prices.

Ed Farnell and I will be there and also at the Charlotte Auto Fair. If someone needs a large part delivered between MN and GA and SC, NC and PA and OH and back home I will be driving my truck. I may even go to Richmond VA. Jim
  11. I have a good glass from one of my convertible parts cars. Jim
  12. VERY strange coincidence. I am guessing it has been several weeks since I have looked at the forum and many weeks since I have posted so just now I came in for lunch after spending about 2 hours, removing window switches from my parts cars, checking to make sure they light up, cleaning them, reassembling them and I am now going to go back out and test four of them. Before going back out I decided I would see what has been posted and found this post. I too would be interested depending on price. I have four switches that are just OK but would look better with new tops.
  13. In shipping parts lately the USPS seems to me making more errors but this one was worth posting about as it is so bizarre and funny. I sent a fellow in TX two rubber hangers for his Reatta muffler. What he received in my box was a black Fredricks of Hollywood XL bra. In talking to him he said he doesn't want it as he is 84 years old and not his size When he received the small Priority Mail box it was smashed on one end and taped. I did not tape it when I sent it. What must have happened was the PO must have damaged several boxes and the simply put whatever they wanted into any damaged box and sent it out. His local PO said it is his to keep. I did send him two more hangers but am wondering what the person who order the bra got and if it was my muffler hangers, what are they going to do with them?
  14. Looks like a good deal. I have owned 4 green '91s and am currently parting out the last green one made. I didn't really want to but I sold a tan console and then realized I didn't have one except in this complete car so I sold it thinking I would replace it. I then sold a couple more parts off the car and last week I sold the complete working sunroof so I guess it is now for sure a parts car. Oddly hesslakeguy who posts on the forum lives near by this car and has a very nice low mileage green '91.

Dave, Either address is OK. I will be tapering away from the cpinternet one but so many people know me at that address and have it in their address books that I will keep it working for a while. I will be emailing everyone in my Reatta contacts book with the new address but that is going to be a big task and it might even get kicked out as spam due to the large number of addresses I will be sending to. The good thing about gmail is every 5 minutes gmail goes to my cpinternet address and takes out the emails then forwards them to me in my gmail account. I have received your emails and thought this morning I had sent you an email with pictures but when I just got home now I see it never went because there was a spelling error and I didn't wait long enough thsi morning to notice that before leaving my computer the spell check popped up and never sent the email. I just resent it. Jim
  16. Randy is a nice guy and we miss him, Hope he gets through the cancer. Only a few people know Randy holds the fastest speed record for a Reatta at MIS ( Michigan Int'l Speedway )

In a recent post it was stated I "was essentially out of business" and I responded nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately some folks only read parts of the thread, as since that time I have received two emails stating they heard I was out of business. I have been in the parts business for about 18 years, longer than any other supplier, except Speedway which sold all their parts for a fellow in Tucson who I am told is a good supplier but not too active. I am the current assistant director of the Reatta division and have been on and off for about 8 years and have an excellent reputation for quality, price and honesty.
  18. The wiring/switches in steering columns is extremely hard to fix. Recently my cruise control quit working on my "driver" and instead of trying to pull in new wires I simply ran some replacement wires on the outside, but still hidden. In the case of replacing the turn signal mechanism those wires are part of the main harness that goes up the steering column and not replaceable without first removing the connector from the wires, pulling up the old and pulling down the new and then putting the connector back on. You also have to remove the steering wheel, clock spring and top plate of the column which requires a special tool. I can replace a whole column in about a half hour which is FAR easier than trying to fix one. I have steering columns available for $ 90 plus shipping.

The teves unit on ebay is too cheap. I sell good working originals as fast as I can get them in for $ 350.. Great deal for someone looking for a rebuilt one. This is a $ 600 or more unit. ( Ed, I want a commission. )
  20. About two weeks ago Nick Toth in Canada ( he has lots of Reatta shirts and hats etc for sale ) emailed me having the same problem. I suggested he push down on the trunk lid while turning the key on the back of the car or while someone else pushed the button in the glove box and it worked for him. Very often something will get jammed in the latching mechanism and won't allow the solenoid to operate and release the trunk. By pushing on the lid at the same time as trying to operate the solenoid all it takes is a little help. If this doesn't help then the way is the way Mr Anderson explained above.
  21. I think it is a great idea to remake the covers and inserts. There is and will be a demand for them. I used to buy them and was able to resell them for $ 5 per piece. GM raised their prices and then it was about $ 10 per piece. I now have about 10 of each piece left and when they are gone I don't know of any place to get them. GM and Vintage are out of both pieces. I recently quoted $ 20 per piece to one person looking for them and did not hear back from them. About 6 weeks ago I sent one of each piece to my son who does 3D printing ( he is the one who makes the tonneau cover clips for me ) and after looking at them he also agreed 3D printing might not be the answer. He also stated, he belongs to one of these "makers" clubs, that he had some other ideas and will get back to me. When I mentioned $ 20 per piece to him he thought that was a fair area and in giving it more thought myself, what to you get for $ 20 anymore. If GM had them today it would be at least that. I do not think there is right now a demand for center cap centers. I have stacks of dull or damaged center caps with good centers but only seldom do I get request for them. Odd thing is they can fall out of the center cap but to try and remove them I have to grind away the aluminum and then carefully remove the center without damaging the silver backing on the center. Sometimes when removing them the glue GM used will also take the silvering off.

Mike, No ill will received and as I mentioned, thank you for allowing me to remind folks I am still around since I hadn't been posting too much. That will change now that we are settled in our new location. I just got back home from Mazatlan and now have lots of catching up to to with emails and shipping parts so I was wondering if you could take the time to do a quick search and let me know where I made those statements. I don't remember posting that I was going out of business. Nothing in my post was meant to comment on others folks practices but simply to point out that any parts I ship are of the highest quality ( if not the part will be described as to any defects ), reasonable prices, ( meaning I try and sell the parts at what I think most folks should pay for a part ) and that when someone gets a part from me there will be no hidden charges, ( unless stated in the direct correspondence, eg extra time in boxing up large items ) Quality, value and always a guarantee. It has often been said that you cannot believe what you read on the Internet. The statement by Mike R that I am essentially out of the parts business is a classic example. Nothing could be further from the truth. While it is true that Mike, Steve and Marck are not on my Christmas card list I am 100% available for parts. I do want to thank Mike though, for allowing me to remind folks that I am available for quality parts at reasonable prices and you only pay the actual cost of shipping with no "handling" charges. I have not been on the forum much in the last several months because after 41 years in the same location I moved and moved all my parts cars and all my parts.
  24. If you are going to be in Springfield MO for the BCA meet there is a '69 Skylark four door in Buddys U Pull auto parts. The car still has some good pieces on it and in looking under the hood and at the dash all the AC parts seem to be there. I was passing through Springfield on my way home so I cannot give any more information on the car.
