  1. I was at the Pull A Part in Charlotte on Tryon Rd last week and they have a Reatta there with a good windshield. The car is pretty picked over but does have some good suspension and engine parts.
  2. If is nice that some of the U Pull It types have their inventory on line but this one did not. While I was in Charlotte the U pull it there listed a Reatta that had been there since February and I knew it would be pretty picked over but was still able to get a very nice air dam from under the car, the heater programmer and the blower control module and a couple of other items. This car still has a good windshield in it.
  3. A person has to be fast sometimes. On Thursday March 28th I got to a U Pull It in Indianapolis about 15 minutes before quitting time, found a complete Reatta, and got the floor mats, two center caps the RH mirror and one or two other small parts. I came back one week later hoping to get more parts but they had already crushed the car. The woman behind the counter said they change about two hundred cars per week. If a car is in a row that is being removed regardless of the condition of an individual car in that row, the whole row gets crushed.
  4. Last Monday and Tuesday we played golf in Columbia in short sleeved shirts. Thursday we had sleet hitting us at the Charlotte Auto Fair but Friday was nice. Today we drove three cars,my driver was an AH 3000 convertible with the top down to a British car show in Columbia. When I get back home next Tuesday we will still have about 10 inches of snow on the ground.
  5. I have the parts available at a reasonable price and also know of a fellow not to far from you that has a burgundy parts car. I can give you more information when I get home next Tuesday. jfinn@cpinternet.com
  6. My story isn't so nice. About two weeks ago I sold for $ 200 a complete set up to add a CD to a '90. It included a working player, harness and black bezel. The customers name was Ryan XXXXXX in PA. I accidentally sent to to an address of a previous customer in Ft Lauderdale FL with the same last name. Ryan emailed me and said he didn't get it so I did some checking and was able to contact the person in FL and they admitted they got the box last Friday. I asked if they could send it onto the correct person and they said they threw it in the garbage and the garbage has gone to the dump. This was three days after they received the box. My return address was on the box and my Reatta stamp and the people who got it used to own a Reatta ( 10 years ago )but never tried to contact me but claimed it went in the garbage. I am 100% sure they are keeping the items and will soon be on Craigslist or Ebay. If anyone sees these items available in FT Lauderdale they are stolen. Please contact me and I will contact the Ft L police. I am in Columbia SC right now and have another setup and will be sending to Ryan when I get home. I also have more of the same setups available.

Ervin, now I am jealous. I have mentioned to friends that if I ever won the lottery I might by a new "driver" as my newest driver car I have now is an '01 Beetle diesel and an '01 Chev PU. The only other car I want is a '67 big block Corvette convertible. I have a '63 Corvette and a '65 GTO convertible and others but want a '67 big block.
  8. I took that light off a '90 Reatta trunk lid, boxed it up and sent it to Wes no charge. ( I told everyone I sell my parts cheap. Wes emailed me about the problem and will send him another.
  9. Wally, I sent jmike an email Thanks. Jim
  10. I did not get that at all either from my phone conversation or from Peter's sticky post.
  11. Please read the top "sticky" and hopefully we can get some folks to become moderators. Peter states "It's up to you as a community. If you don't want to moderator yourself, then I will." Per my very nice phone conversation with him on Monday, what he is saying is, the alternative, is shutting down this site.
  12. I have to sort of disagree with your mechanic. There are three basic mounts on the '90 Reattas and then the "dog bone" on top of the engine. The dog bone holds the engine from moving back and forth at the top. You can tell if this one is bad by simply trying to move it. The rubbers will get bad and the mount should be tight. These can be purchased fairly cheaply new at most auto parts stores. On the transmission end of the Reatta there is a mount under the large aluminum piece. These almost never go bad. When any of the mounts go bad the rubber will separate from the metal part. There is a right side rear mount that is simply a rubber steel combination and these can separate. The front mount near the AC compressor is known to go bad. If a mount is good there would be no reason to replace them as they are either good or not. They do not compress so there would never be an "alignment" problem replacing just one. I do have all the mounts available in good used condition.
  13. It also could be the bearing plates at the top of the struts. Normally these are not replaced when putting in new struts unless the installer noticed they are bad. There are a bunch of ball bearings in them and they can come out and then the plates will be loose and can make a noise. I have the upper strut bearing plates available.

As Roger said the assemblies are the same in those cars but there are year differences. The '89 and older are the same and the '90 and newer are the same but the two are different. Also, and here is the bad news, the dash has to come out to replace the assembly. I have both available.
  15. As I recall, Bill had his green one and also a red '91. Something in the lower end of the red car and he had to replace the engine. Jim

Dave, Thank you for your diligence and thank you Matt for your actions in trying to keep the forum as it should be. Jim
  17. Bill was a really nice guy and I always enjoyed seeing him at the national meets. Whenever one of us would get a link to some really neat engineering project we would email it to each other.
  18. Ronnie, Please, please, please change your mind and keep posting. YOU ARE ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS! And, please keep your store and site open. Yes there are some trouble makers around but sooner or later the moderators are going to figure them out and they will be banned. Jim
  19. About 50% of the time I take my CRT tester with me and sometimes the folks in the wrecking yard will allow me to take the CRT out to my car and test it there. The CRT tester plugs into the cigarette lighter. Other times, because like you mentioned they are cheap in the U Pull Its, I will buy it and either take a chance that it will be good, or just eat the loss if not, but most of the time these yards have a 30 day return policy. They don't give you a cash refund but a store credit and on a return trip you can always find something worth $ 25. If you don't have a tester you can also try it immediately in your '88-89 Reatta if you drive it to the yard. A couple of times they said I couldn't take it out to try it before purchasing it so I only purchased the CRT, left my other items on the counter, went out and tried the CRT, and then if it was bad they gave me a store credit which I then applied to my other items waiting to be purchased.
  20. I like the "text" format. It comes up the fastest and everything is there on each line.
  21. Funny how some things go in circles. My sister wanted a blue '89 and last week bought the one from Melwel49. In the trunk was the touch screen pictured still in the box from Jessica Locke She gave it to me and it is in good working condition.

    Reatta parts

DZLFRK, I just sent you a PM telling you my normal price for these moldings is $ 20. I shipped one yesterday to Mr Ramos in Fl and the shipping was $ 7 for Priority Mail. Please email at jfinn@cpinternet.com with the color of your moldings. Thanks, Jim
  24. There are several radio modules GM used that look the same but the correct module for a Reatta is one that will function the five equalizers switches. Many of the cars had an identical looking module but they only have treble and base built into them so if you put one of them in you will only have two settings instead of the normal five.
