  2. The Ford Grenada. Seriously, Ford? And we used to make fun of the "fine, Corinthian leather" in the Cordoba but I have no real feelings about the car either way.
  3. Wrapping a car for advertising or inexpensive color change is fine, but I would be EXTREMELY cautious about doing it to a vintage or antique.
  4. As you can guess, waxes, polish, ceramics, are only as good as the 1. base on which they're applied, 2. quality of the product, 3, skill of application, 4. aftercare. Personally, I have trouble getting ceramic coatings correct. I find much more success using a clay bar, a polish, and a wax. While more labor intensive, it's also a more forgiving process. I will also say that silicone sprays are a scam (again, my opinion). If you have a bottle of spray the silicone is so diluted as to be ineffective, or it would quickly clog the nozzle. Side note, perhaps a forum here dedicated to appearance products might be in order.

I added it to a sharable calendar I keep. Download it here https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=dmgwZWc3NjRmdnNsajNyMXZhZTQxcjdvdTRAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ or send me your email and I can add you to the list that way. It has many events across the country.
  6. While I haven't done a car loan in many years (so take my comments for what they're worth), I would think a vintage/antique loan is no different than any other car loan. You need a down payment typically, and the value of the loan needs to be supported by the current value of the car. We all know many vintage cars are sold in excess of their blue book so if you're getting a loan it's either up to you to make up the difference or you find a lender who understands the value of antique cars. Given that, you might be better off using a home equity line of credit (HELOC), which means you don't have to justify anything beyond the value of your real estate and you can deduct the interest, something you can't do with a car loan for personal use. Or a business loan if the vehicle is demonstrably used for business, advertising, etc. That might raise IRS red flags, however.
  7. What/where is that round building? I'm guessing a barn, originally. Have u been in it?
  8. So move to northeastern Illinois. We don't have mountains or oceans, but more food choices than you can shake a stick at. And a DMV that does it's job, although that may change now that the Sec. of State has retired.
  9. RUN AWAY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!! It's too late for us but save yourself? /s
  10. The VW bug was always something I liked. Until I drove one. Never was a fan of the Corvette, but the new ones are looking really great.
  11. It does. It runs, although not well at the moment. Could be bad gas, bad alternator, fuel pump, etc. I have a lot of troubleshooting and $$ investment ahead. Also, a lot of aggravating repairs like the trunk struts, the seatbelts, much of the dash controls like the radio and climate control don't work, etc. Could be little things like fuses, disconnected wires, etc. I just haven't had time or space to work on it. Plus that annoying stencil on the windshield. Fortunately, my other car is finished so I have the time.
  12. The stories I've heard are that concept cars are around for a few months, then destroyed or kept in the GM archives somewhere. This one supposedly went into the Heritage Collection and was sold when GM went bankrupt in 2009. Floated around and sold a couple times until I bought it last December.
  13. Not that anyone asked, but all I can say is that color combo is terrible, regardless where it came from.
  14. Yep. Attempting to put this back to as close as I can get to museum quality.
  15. Yes, I know this one was probably never intended to be on the road but the valve stems are on the inside of the wheel, so you must remove the wheel covers (which are glued on, btw) and snake your air hose behind, or remove the wheel, or whatever.
  16. The first one I owned was a 1981 Dodge Omni hatchback with a 4 speed. Decent motor that I drove into the ground. Decent car for what it was. 4 cyl Volkswagen FWD engine and not much else.
  17. True, but it is the model I was referring to. The future buyer isn't as interested to go to the dealer, and the other dealer, and back and forth. Shop the internet while working from home.
  18. I found Bill thru the website but haven't heard back. Many of the others are on LinkedIn but again, no response. I'll try Dennis Manner through here.
  19. Economies of scale are swallowing small businesses for every product, and many services as well. And Amazon and Walmart will destroy the rest. If the Carvana model of used cars takes off it could possibly expand to new cars. Assuming they even want a car. A lot of Gen whatever are choosing differently than previous generations. Blink your eyes and the world has changed.
