  1. These? https://www.ebay.com/itm/332346433708 If these are your solution beware of the type of screw head. Photos 2 and 3 in this ad show a Philips-head screw . A Philips screwdriver will obviously work. Photo 4 shows an apparently original next to a new one. The small hash marks on the old one mark it as a Posi-drive. Very similar in appearance to a Philips -- but a Philips screwdriver on a Posi-drive screw will cam-out and damage/destroy the screw quite easily.
  2. HD = Home Depot (more for the Do it Yourself-er) Lowes = Lowes (caters more to contractors) Both are BIG box stores; each carry everything for the home/project guy who is redoing/rebuilding/replacing nearly anything Everything: buy a door or door knob or hinge or striker plate or door stop or new glass for it or paint or stain to cover it or a door mat to put in front of it Either would certainly carry a generic pull chain and -- knowing both of those store chains -- you would have a choice of 17 different lengths in 5 different sized beads
  3. And to really expand the challenge, consider a group of geese: A gaggle, for example, is a bunch of geese that can be seen on the land or swimming in the water. Geese in flight is referred to as a skein, wedge, or team. While a plump is referred to be a group of geese flying particularly close together. 4. Would you care to share the specific product you used? TIA Craig
  5. Bill No Joy when clicking on the link you provided. Got this: Sorry, this content isn't available right now
  6. I've never tried these but they may help. https://ganofilters.com/
  7. "did some Shirts for our European ROA Meeting in Wolfsburg in 2021" Eric -- love the design. Did you consider putting the rear view of the Rivi on the back of the T-Shirt?
  8. "Standard sizes are harder to find instead of the metric. I can usually find them at NAPA but nowadays its all a crapshoot." Is this the right stuff? https://www.ebay.com/itm/352443720838 Or this? https://www.amazon.com/HBD-3341-Vacuum-Hose/dp/B000BO9DN0/ref=sr_1_6?gclid=Cj0KCQjw_4-SBhCgARIsAAlegrVSxyE7nd6ZNUFWms786-JnjB1dl1TwlLd26GkEBi87b0O1YTYyacMaAoEfEALw_wcB&hvadid=282528635260&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9028738&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6078289882294921415&hvtargid=kwd-377775434145&hydadcr=5709_9590312&keywords=7%2F64+vacuum+hose&qid=1648666341&s=automotive&sr=1-6
  9. Is this piece available from someplace, should it be damaged during removal?
  10. I received both seat covers from Clarks the other day and the weather here (CO) was finally clear and warm-ish so I could grab some photos in natural light. As I mentioned the passenger seat needed attention as well: split seam on the outer upper corner of the seat back and the plastic coating on the (safety?) wire for the seat belt (photos 1 and 2). Regarding the seat covers: I'm not sure of the color is that off or if the covers on the car (which I am pretty sure are replacements) are just dirty or weathered. In any event, the match could have been better, in my opinion. The grain of the vinyl is pretty close. The carpet attached to the edge of the seat covers is another matter -- it has a bunch more yellow in it. It isn't so "off" in real life but still not what I would call real close. Not sure how to measure thickness -- maybe after the old covers are off?? What/Where do I measure? Need guidance Craig
  11. I might be inclined to leave a comment on their website -- it likely we be deleted in hours/days, so copy/paste onto your personal computer so you can quickly replace it and have it at hand for posting to Yelp BBB, etc. Otherwise the shop can continue to claim "we sell lots of these and no one has issues"

  13. I helped a friend who was performing a just-short-of-frame-off restoration of a Thelma & Louise clone. The work was done in CO for his California-based customer. The wife of the owner (and her mom) are extreme fans of the movie and plan to drive the route from the movie ending at the cliff. His biggest challenge was Frankenstein-ing 2-3 harnesses together to add the features not usually found on a 1966. The 428 was also problematic when the machine shop had the new guy do some of the work. Three blown head gaskets later . ..
  14. . . . will do. I'm expecting the upholstery kit later this week and have a slot reserved on 21MAR22 for the re-upholstery of the seats. Watch this space . . .
  15. SF65 - if you relook at the photos I posted, you may note that it takes a rather steep angle to get a good view of the missing bolts and holes. The wrap-around bumper -- especially if mounted tight to the body -- pretty much conceals the bolt hole. It is hard to see the hole unless you know to look for it.
  16. Thanks guys -- sure makes sense to me. I'll leave enough alone -- Craig
  17. I used a clay bar on the paint last weekend followed with a fresh waxing. Going over the entire car 3-5 five times brought to life some missing hardware. During those various passes I noticed (for the first time) I'm missing a bolt on each side of the front bumpers where they wrap around the fender (see photos). Anyone know the size, length and pitch of the missing bolts? Are they are special item or will any Ace Hardware carry them?
  18. Boy -- you got that right. It took a right turn at Albuquerque. 😄 That was my intent from the beginning. I didn't want to wait until the seats were open and on the operating table to get recommendations. From the sound of it, I won't need to replace the cushion(s) and got some leads to source springs. Thanx all
  19. I am re-upholstering the front bucket seats in the subject car. I have the set covers coming from Clark's Corvair, but Clark's doesn't offer the cushions (what they call the pads) -- mine seem to be in good shape but who knows what will happen when the old vinyl is removed. Is there a place you guys can recommend that offers the cushions?

  21. I have ordered the vinyl seat covers from Clark's Corvair for both of my two front seats. Looking more closely at the seats (with this renewed focus) I noted the outside upper corner of the back of the passenger seat had a split seam -- about 3-4 inches. Since I was concerned about color-matching the seats by just replacing the one panel anyway, I am gonna redo the seats and backs on both. Clark's doesn't offer the cushions (what they call the pads) -- mine seem to be in good shape but who knows what will happen when the old vinyl is removed. Is there a place you guys can recommend that offers the cushions? TIA Craig
  22. The lower portion of my driver's seat back (about the size of a softball, centered in the lower portion) has been stiff compared to the rest of the vinyl on the seat back and seat cushion since I bought it 2-3 years ago. Today -- that stiffness gave up the ghost. I'm pretty sure the seat covers are not original. In any event, I am looking for recommendation(s) on sourcing a replacement cushion(s). I expect they will be sold in pairs, so I'm prepared to replace both the driver and passenger seat cushions if for no other reason than to get a better color match the seats that are side-by-side. A web search turned up https://www.autoobsession.com/seatupholstery1964-65rivierabucketseatcover-front.aspx https://www.zemotor.com/used-cars/1965-buick-riviera-interior (but i couldn't find any upholstery entries) https://www.opgi.com/interior-accessories/seat-upholstery/1965-buick-riviera-upholstery/seat-upholstery-1965-riviera-custom-front-buckets-br02206.html (but they don't offer green and I've seen positive and negative comments about them) Any help appreciated Craig
