  1. « How many legs does a horse have if you call the tail a leg? Still four - calling it one doesn’t make it so. »
  2. The wires were an option on a 400. The interior fabric seems off. The level stance is a good sign for the Torsion-Level
  3. The houndstooth wool was also used in the Eight. I believe there was also a striped broadcloth
  4. If you try to make your own, there are a bunch of other questions what was the original made of? You want to base it on neoprene, is that usual for this service? assuming neoprene is a good choice, it’s not neat neoprene, it’s a compound what other additives and fillers, at what levels? What durometer - this is certainly important. The old degraded one is stiffer than the replacement needs to be
  5. To electroplate, the material must conduct electricity. So you would need the polyamide (« Nylon ») to have a conductive type of carbon black compounded in at high enough levels for the particles to form microscopic connected networks. The amount of network you have determines if the material dissipates static charge or actually conducts just throwing in some black nylon is almost certain to fail
  6. Yes, because taxed at two fiscal horsepower
  7. I fail to see why you would have a secret expectation of receiving more than what was the initial agreement. Regardless of the scarcity or cost of the part
  8. You’re right there was a sweep on the lower doors
  9. The maroon and black one is the « Charleston » submodel.
  10. Stop trying to make up the terms after you concluded the deal.
  11. The Errol Flynn convertible did not survive, but a recreation of it has been made. It is a handsome car. There were at least 2 convertible sedans, I think by Derham. and yes, the boat tail is a mess
  12. Who says you can’t do irony in text?
  13. The 9-7X still had the crap quality of the Chevy it was. There wasn’t a lot of market overlap between fans of Chevy trucks and fans of Saabs. The 9-2X was interesting as a WRX that GM would discount. The Saab 9-3 was mostly Opel-derived You can see where this approach led. Once Bonneville- LeSabre-88 become the same car, two go away.
  14. This is the Eight Deluxe with the standard hood ornament, although the donut chaser and cormorant were optional
  15. It would not take much $ to vastly improve the engine compartment
  16. Steering wheel center? My Packard used a similar brass disk, painted
  17. I think so long as these clubs focus on authenticity they have common ground. exclusion/inclusion of modified vehicles could be a deal breaking issue
  18. You think it’s a « great bargain » but worth 20% less. Interesting logic
  19. This may be a dumb question, but why bother with power steering? Just use the original manual steering. I don’t think this thing is going to be turning any hot laps. Or has it already been switched to Toyota steering ?
