The difficulty is that the Darrin and the 53-4 Corvette had the looks but not the chops of true sports cars such as the XK Jaguars -

âShadeâ means color. Iâm sure the shade was whatever cheap single pigment black the supplier had. The (helpful) responses have been about gloss, and while not tightly controlled, was perhaps called out by Ford. They do interact - duller blacks do not look as âjetâ or blue even if the color is in fact the same -

Interesting process! Careful not to breathe the fumes when heating it - the alloy has lead, tin, bismuth and cadmium. -

If you must use acid, please remember to dilute by adding acid to water, not water to acid. The high heat of mixing can make it spatter if you add the wrong way.
