  1. I'm in Florida too and have a 74 mgb that had a hot starting problem so I installed a fan shroud(plus other things)and the shroud made a big difference, especially at the super long red lights in our area.
  2. Just saw on Space coast Florida's craigslist under barter.Sorry I can't send the ad.Says it's all original and runs but needs some "tinkering" to drive. No interior pictures.I'll see if he'd be interested in my mg but he said he wants a Pinto .It's a two door, body doesn't look bad from what I can tell.He said he's open to other trades also, just tell him what you have.
  3. My wife and I are going to Carlisle next week to go to the show in Hershey. We will probably be arriving on Wednesday. When is the last day for the Carlisle show? Thanks
  4. Yes,I think they changed in mid year.
  5. I still would rather have a dash like that rather than one like a new car with the giant computer screen in the middle and all the buttons on the steering wheel that I have no idea what they're for and am constantly accidentally pushing them.
  6. I might need a good distributor for my 74.It's a vacuum type 25D.
  7. Will anyone be selling and British parts? I have a 74 mgb.
  8. Wish I lived closer,it would look nice next to my 35 Buick but I'm in Florida.I have a nice chrome bumper mtg that Is like to trade but it's probably worth only $9000. I doubt if you'd want th anyway.Anyway, nice car!
  9. Just now on Space Coast Florida's craigslist.Sorry I can't do the pictures. Ugly color,I think.Meant to say Clipper not flipper, but mabe?
  10. I just changed the condenser and it seems better,I'll test drive it tomorrow.
  11. Where are you located? I might need one for my 74 if it would fit.I'm in Florida.Thanks.
  12. The black one pictured is a larger series as it has chrome headlights and four wind splits in the hood. I agree it flows better without the side mount. The front bumper is straight across and not curved like on my sedan, maybe coupes are different?
  13. I couldn't get the vacuum advance to move any by sucking on the tube so I'm thinking it's stuck.Thinking of just getting an other distributor.Wouldn't hurt to have a spare anyway.
  14. Bringing mine too.Wife,no scooter.See you there for the V.W.wheel.Greg
  15. Thanks,I've done that.Someone said it's the condenser ,I'll try changing that but I don't think that's it.
  16. Thanks,I've been in touch with them also but thought I'd try both sources.
  17. I think th PO removed the gulp valve along with all the rest of the emission stuff.
  18. All of a sudden my 74 mg started popping out of the exhaust and running poorly.I also noticed that it's idling lower than usual.I checked the points and somehow the gap had widened up.I reset them and it runs a little better but still popping but not as bad.I drained the old gas and am going to put fresh in tomorrow and check for vacuum leaks. It has a single down draft weber. Any other things to look for? It's got a new coil, condenser and points last summer.I did notice that the points aren't contacting quite squarley.Thanks.
  19. Just curious, what goes through the hole? Shift lever, headlight dimmer switch? Is it the same as a 40 series? I think mines o.k.but I do need a starter solenoid for my extra starter if you have one. Thanks
  20. I was just wondering since a lot of 30s left hand drive cars had the door outside lock on the passenger side like my 35 Buick but not on the driver side.I asked about this and found out that some states had a law that you could only enter a vehicle from the passenger side due to safety and road conditions.Dose that mee n that British cars had the lock and key on the other side? And do post office vehicles have the steering wheel on the left side in England, the mail boxes must be on the other side of the road also I would guess.
