  1. You don't usually see "improvements" like this on a Packard.... Classic restoration with period appropriate new interior, rebuilt flat head straight 8, front disc brakes, four new Coker white wall radials, converted to 12 volt with recent new paint. This classic runs and drives great. Email: 29bea5dd00243372b3ce3ce15bea2b7d@sale.craigslist.org

  3. Certainly "All the money" for this model but assuming it's truly original, it's a remarkable example! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-martin-1951-baby-lincoln/7757154174.html 1951 Baby Lincoln - less than 4,500 two doors built. Original 337 flat head v8 with a factory installed GM supplied hydromatic 4 speed transmission. Interior is all original from factory except added seat belts. A true rare survivor. Love this car. Acquired it in a trade which my dad was excited for me to get. Unfortunately 6 days after picking this car up, we lost my dad. I would like to see this go to someone who will keep it in the original condition it is in. Only selling to be able to purchase one of my dad's cars. $27,000 or best reasonable offer. Lowball offers will be ignored. email: a6d2011e71fe386989f6995e1ba224f0@sale.craigslist.org

  7. I hope they don't need a quick sale to save the ranch!
  8. When I was learning to drive, we were at a stop sign on a bit of a hill and my dad said "Now, you don't want to roll back into that guy behind us, so let out the clutch a little faster with a little extra gas". OK, except I used to confuse First (down and toward you) with Reverse (Up and toward you). You know what happened next.....
  9. Bill Frick was a dealer in Rockville Center NY who specialized in transplanting the new Cadillac OHV into light weight Fords. Briggs Cunningham wanted to enter a "Fordillac" at Le Mans in 1950, but the French said no, resulting in his entry of two Cadillacs (and 10th over all finish) that year.
  10. Original gauges are a big part of the vintage charm of any vehicle. Unfortunate.

  15. Most of the time if the ad says "show winner" they are referring to a show put on by the local Boy Scout Troop. Pebble Beach is impressive, is it $90K worth? Sad to see that even at Pebble, they can't escape the gangster vibe. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-jose-1941-lincoln-continental/7755757008.html Near perfect concours restoration. 16. Without the ability to "see it" remotely, the pool of buyers will only be those interested enough to go there after hearing a verbal description. I hope it doesn't go for less than it's worth to a flipper, but that's likely unless the seller can enlist a young friend.
  17. I'll say! From uneducated tinkerer, to one of the richest people in the world. It seems that often has the effect of causing the person to think "they know best" in every arena, not just the one that made them successful. He thought he could stop World War One. It is interesting to think about what might have happened if Henry had retired when the V8 came out. He was almost 70 at that point. From that point on, its very difficult to make a case that the company was well managed, so I don't think Henry gets much credit for steering it through the depression. Viewed through the lens of contemporary events, America got through that difficult period by swinging left, while several countries in Europe swung right.
  18. This later became a Simca model. The engine is a V8 60... I believe the gearbox is similar to that used by Cord. Looks a bit like a Buick that had the wrong setting on the clothes dryer! http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/668819/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 old new in France. Was in the collection of Andre Weber for about 40 years. He and his team restored the car and transformed the car from a coach into a convertible. Was a French body off restoration in the eighties of last century.
  19. A very nice '32 B. I'm sure these have a premium over the equivalent "A", but they are asking $60K for this! (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/campbell-1932-ford-model-18-sport-coupe/7755548236.html Beautifully Restored 1932 Ford Model B Sport Coupe, finished in a two-tone dark tan over black with a light tan convertible top riding on yellow wire wheels. The Ford is powered by the 201 Flathead 4 engine mated to a manual transmission and runs and drives excellent. The car is being put up for sale by a private collector who is reducing the size of his vintage automobile collection, this car has been meticulously cared for over 30 years. This is a great opportunity to own what is considered to be the rarest coupe of the 1932 model year. Please email me if you would like complete info / or discuss the price / I do negotiate email: e256cb76a46d374cb33536fe2cd44cd1@sale.craigslist.org
  20. I always try to pick up a copy of Retro Viseur if I'm in Europe. Print is still alive there!
  21. @wayne sheldon nailed it….best way to drive a Model T in a parade. I’ve used several different T’s, radiator and cooling systems must be in good condition. Great info you two! I maintain and drive a '25 Chevy that belongs to the city where I live. I do try to exercise it every couple of months but mostly it does a couple of parades a year. If it's a hot day, it always gets close to boiling. In '28 Chevy added a fan shroud to the back of the radiator, I bet that would help a lot, but the other issue is that the speed of the parade is often below the idle speed in first gear. It's a truck body but has a 3 speed. I try to just drag the brakes but usually have to resort to the clutch. I try to be as easy on the clutch as I can be (I got 230,000 mostly in town miles on the first clutch of a Honda I used town) but I know it's a lot of wear and tear.
