  1. No real information but it looks like a nice example... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/santa-rosa-1950-studebaker-champion/7713074042.html 1950 Studebaker Champion 2 dr Coupe 6-cyl 169.6cid/85hp Very Rare, good condition email: 3def2d615e9d3c7f8fcd738863efc2f1@sale.craigslist.org
  2. I care for a '25 Chevy that is driven quarterly but only does about 50 miles a year. I've had a problem with old gas so I try to only keep about a gallon in the tank and add new when ever it's used. I did have a problem with a fuel line that was replaced in the 90's reacting to California gas, causing it to stop being hollow. The auto parts guy told me everything made in the last 25 years is resistant.
  3. My searches are generally pre- mid 50's. I do see some cars that are sub $10K but in general, I don't find them interesting. Here's an example...Model A listed for $5K
  4. Back in the 60's Ferrari wanted to produce a new engine for the formula 2 racing series but the rules specified thousands needed to be made to qualify as production. Thus, the Ferrari engined Fiat was born. Open cars received a Pininfarina body, coupes (like this one) were made by Bertone. Neither the Fait or the Dino Ferrari carried the Ferrari badge, and the engine was also used in the very successful Lancia Stratos ralley car.

  6. At this price I would expect "correctly" restored... The quality of the pictures doesn't inspire confidence. 7. I always thought these were nice cars, but obviously not in this condition at this price. You have to wonder how they came up with $30k. I got an error message when I clicked on the phone number... https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/elverta-1947-packard-clipper/7712572167.html 1947 Packard clipper 2 door hard to find was in the garage for 40 yrs car is complete no missing parts car is solid floor only one spot back fender , original engine and transmission turns over and Start everything works lights and gauges, not Drivable need breaks any questions call me at show contact info location Elverta ca email: 95392cbe694433eaab5ecd5211422ab8@sale.craigslist.org
  8. Here's the new ad with the same pictures: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/hayward-1932-ford-model-sedan/7712380489.html (510) 760-1260
  9. Interesting! These have grown better looking with each passing year, and (similar to the Ford Bronco, Porsche 911, and several other vehicles) there is company that will see you a reimagined one with all the modern HP and bells and whistles for big money ($500,00?) https://www.cyanracing.com/news/2020/09/02/revealing-the-volvo-p1800-cyan
  10. I have an auto "restoration" book that I bought in the 70's that suggested turning sedans into open tourers. Looking back at that period today, some crazy modifications went on. I remember a Duesenberg powered Model A Ford, and lots of Shelby Cobras with small block Chevys. It still happens to cars that aren't worth much. There us a British magazine called Practical Classics that is all about getting your old car on the road but adapting different readily available parts. In 50 years we'll look back in horror, but at least those cars didn't go to the scrapper.
  11. I have a nephew that was an engineer in the prototype shop at Tesla until recently. He brought home a "plaid" engineering prototype and took us for a ride. The acceleration is almost painful and probably not useful getting on the freeway because if you take 2 seconds to check the mirror, you've already rear ended the guy ahead who was going 75.
  12. Seems like a very good deal...what am I missing? https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/van-nuys-1963-plymouth-valiant/7711778381.html 1963 Plymouth valiant convertible Runs and drives smooth Drives on fwy also but only has 3 gears Clean title Automatic transmission Current registration Smog exempt Inline 6 cylinder Brand new passenger side leafspring Convertible top back window needs Work If interested, call or text Drew (818) 448-5677
  13. Too bad about lowering it! That takes some value away for sure. I do have a soft spot for this model and year which placed 10th at Le Mans, and averaged 81.5 mph for the 24 hours, only 8 mph les than the winner. They really were the "Standard of The World".
  14. Yes! That's the first failure point, which at least probably won't endanger anyone else. He'd have been so much better to swap in a later Cadillac flat head if he had to go messing about. Not going to be many takes at $35K.... as they say "That dog won't hunt!"
  15. I do admit that watching this makes me want one! I thought it was interesting that she had the seat adjusted so that when driving her elbows would be at her side and the wheel very close to her chest.
  16. Lots of previous discussion about the high cost to properly rebuild these engines so its easy to guess what happened here (or it could just be poor judgment)...but 454 in the original chassis? Original braking and cornering coupled with many times the power! A rocket powered bi-plane, just needing a brave test pilot. https://slo.craigslist.org/cto/d/nipomo-1929-cadillac/7706215119.html 1929 Cadillac, fresh 454 cu engine with Turbo 400, custom built radiator with auto cooling fans plus additional manual electric electric fan if needed (but never required) Runs good, new battery, paint lacquer finish, mechanical brakes, needs TLC - good project for Grandpa and Grandson to complete. (Have original engine and transmission) email: c29cf693864732d3b2eb12ad4f1dc25b@sale.craigslist.org
  17. Not the best job of masking before that beautiful color. If it ran, it would be an OK deal, but not running and not knowing why, it's a silly price, which might only be paid by some starry eyed hotrodder.
  18. Good starter car...I bet when it was 10 years old it would have been worth about $50. People used to talk about "new car smell" I bet this has that "old car smell". https://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/d/salinas-1951-dodge-wayfarer/7706363378.html 1951 Dodge Wayfarer. Starts right up and drives strong, 3 speed, all electrical works, complete all new brakes, master cylinder, brake hoses, brake pads and springs. Solid driver. Clean tittle. $5k o.b.o email: bc3db3842c523e05801366c517e0c6f2@sale.craigslist.org
  19. Here she is! By the way, the Hollywood freeway was laid out pre-WWII and has very short on ramps that are pretty treacherous. Horsepower is definitely helpful there!
  20. I know my tastes are a little on the quirky side but I think this model is one of the 50's most beautiful.
  21. The speedometer only went to 60MPH but on a long hill, we got up to the E in MILES PER HOUR at the bottom...starting to send the needle around for a second time...very spooky at that speed in the rain! (This was 1974)
  22. They never ever get better as you get closer...I guess it's just our "optimistic eye" that fills in the details we can't quite make out.
