  1. Geez, it makes me tired just to look at it but they are nice looking cars!
  2. I'm not a fan...I don't like the legs straight out driving position, but I have had a few British Roadsters and nice ones go for enough money that this seems like a pretty good real. I think a decent one starts at about $50K and a REALLY nice one could be more than double. At this point I get more enjoyment by seeing one drive by that by being the one doing the driving. No very comfortable...sort of the automotive version of backpacking in my opinion.
  3. It's interesting that the current issue of Hemming's "Classic Car" has a lot of modified cars. Obviously, once you leave purely stock, it's a matter of degrees and style. I can appreciate many, but not "rat rods", and I wouldn't ever own anything unless my wife would be willing to drive it down town.
  4. I don't know what's going on with the seat...possibly a modification to try to get a little more room...these are quite tight. Looks like a nice example with a few updates (alternator) which is a sign that its been used...that's a good thing! Price is not a "deal" but not crazy high either.
  5. So maybe there should be two and they performed the same function as cowl lights? Someone went to a lot of trouble to make the lens and reflector that odd shape. It would make more sense on a car who's name started with "C".
  6. Looks very original. Saskatoon makes that Cadillac in the middle of Nevada seem right around the corner.
  7. There was a Chrysler straight 8 that ran at Bonneville for a number of years, I think they can be strong if prepared correctly.
  8. I was expecting a 350 Chevy...what a relief! I wouldn't do what they did but I have to admit it's neat. Packard does have a performance heritage!
  9. I'd also like to know...looks like it could be original....
  10. I like this one a lot! 11. Exposed overhead valves were very common on WWI aero engines and were considered a great advancement, and a sales point on cars. Of course, the environment the planes operated in was mostly dust free. Castor based oils were commonly used, which flew back from the engine, bathing the pilot and leading to lots of digestive issues. You can still get actual Castor -oil (some 2 stroke bikers use it) it would make your prewar car have a period correct odor! It does dry to a gummy mess...as a 20 year old I worked in a shop that maintained a 356 Porsche race car that used it.
  12. looks like a nice example...ad copy makes you wonder... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/chatsworth-classic-1955-cadillac-seville/7743789098.html All original wast rebuild complete 7 years ago (818) 308-0797
  13. I don't know if this color was offered in '54 but I like it! These orphaned makes are some of the most interesting. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/chatsworth-1954-kaiser-manhattan/7745550110.html Has good paint job, shows some wear and tear. May not be original paint job. Overall it's a clean car. Plates are paid til 2025 I have title in hand email: 3ed4ec86fd0c31a1afab0fde3fc2be1c@sale.craigslist.org
  14. I know a truly correct '32 can bring this type of money, ($60K!!!) but a model B? Are those wheels correct? they sure look small. (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/campbell-1932-ford-model-18-sport-coupe/7745565966.html Beautifully Restored 1932 Ford Model B Sport Coupe, finished in a two-tone dark tan over black with a light tan convertible top riding on yellow wire wheels. 15. 30 years in the paint booth, and the finish still didn't hold up! It is a very interesting project, you just need an optimistic out look and a fat wallet!
  16. I don't like Facebook listings because they usually don't have much information. Not this one! I'd be interested in this car but I think it would make my eye hurt to drive wearing a monocle.
  17. That is a beauty! I have always wondered about how it must have been to have that exposed valve train back when most roads were dirt once you got out of town.
  18. I'll be interested to hear the Buick crowd's comments... there is no picture of the interior! https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/roseville-1940-buick-convertible-frame/7744695103.html Full frame off restoration, Beautiful condition, 1500 miles since restored, Everything operates including the original radio, Turn-Key show car or driver, Located in Sacramento Call (916)214-8468

  20. You forgot one other part of this supporting infrastructure: You have to have room to park it all! You need a place out of town on at least a half acre! I thought about getting a "T" at one point, it would be fun and doesn't have a big foot print. But...the T club mostly trailers to events and I'm not interested in getting a truck and trailer that will be used 6 or 7 times a year. Plus I live in town and although I have two garages, they aren't huge and are (naturally) full.
  21. This car looks really familiar, but searching this forum didn't turn it up. Perhaps another red Dodge roadster with disc wheels and white walls.
  22. I believe Renault out sold VW in '59....where are they today?
